I haven't built a new PC in about 15 years and a random impulse suddenly compelled me to look at PC parts. Based on a quick scan of articles it doesn't seem like now is a good time to jump back in if I was looking to assemble a top of the line rig. Would you folks recommend I wait?
Intel's 8th gen Coffee Lake is coming out soon so I should probably at least wait for those. Are DDR4 prices going to come down? And are high-end GPU prices like the 1080s also affected by cryptocurrency mining?
Either go AMD or wait. I don't trust Intel right now because they use shitty thermal compound.
DDR4 prices continues to go up due to production issue. Only Nvidia GTX 1070 is affected. 1080 prices are still fine.
