Darn it.

I have saved up RM 4000 and there's only RM 800 left from reach my budget target (RM 4800) right now, yet the price update and the removal of the items from yesterday keeps ruining my plan for new PC.

Here's the recap of my preliminary PC specs. Note that the parts listed in red are those removed from the latest price list update. (C-Zone only. I'm not sure about the other stores.)

This is getting worse. Any suggestion?

Yeah, RAM prices are going up due to some production issues. You can try hunting for cheaper RAM first. As for the SSD, that is the price you have to pay for premium grade product. 850 Evo 250GB is just around RM60 more money.

Since AMD Ryzen CPU is picky about the RAM, I need to make sure that the RAM kit I choose is compatible, or else I'll be dead. Possible choices of RAM kit are:
- Any of the G.Skill Flare X 2400 2x8GB RAM kits (Should be around RM600 to RM800)
- Any of the 2400 mt/s (or above) 1x16GB or 2x8GB RAM kits that uses Samsung B-dies. (price varies, and very difficult to find one.)
Any suggestions on the RAM kits choice would be helpful (or not).

As for SSD, I guess I have no choice but to buy a 850 Evo 250GB SSD then. sad.gif

Can Gigabyte B250M-D3H (with Corsair VS 450W) fit into Tecware QUAD MINI CUBE? Interested with the washable and mesh filter. No intention to put GPU.

Secondly, i'm looking for 16GB DDR4 2400, any concern with avexir and g.skill brand? It's not as mainstream as corsair or kingston
*
1. can fit in, no problem
2. go for g.skill

Right now, G.Skill looks to be the cheapest. FlareX is optimized for AMD Ryzen.

Even though PUBG isn't final release yet, this is the current performance.

Looks to me GTX 1070 minimum for 60FPS+ ultra at 1080p. Also, 144hz monitors doesn't come cheap.

As for the spec, how about these?

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - 1039
Asus Prime B350M-A - 445
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X2 - 638
Zotac GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 Mini - 1309
Samsung 850 Evo 250GB - 487
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 210
Super Flower Leadex Silver 550W - 359
Tecware Edge case - 199
BenQ Zowie XL2411 24" monitor - 1199 (from Viewnet)

RM5885 total (C-Zone prices)

Asus B350-PLUS should be around RM500ish. That power supply is crap. Get something better like Super Flower Leadex Silver.

I've been searching around and found GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming 3. Between the two motherboard, is it the same? and does both support the 4 USB 3.0 that is in the front panel of my case?

and another thing..for the SSD, what's the difference between V-NAND and M.2?

Emm....sir, you are comparing two different things.

V-NAND is Samsung's own 3D NAND chips, while M.2 refers to the SSD form factor.

Same chip. Difference is Gigabyte has RGB and better audio chip. Maybe Asus has better power delivery.

Hi guys.. just went through some of the benchmarks.. is it true that budget desktop processor likw g4560 is even more powerful than the i7-7500u counterpart ? So it means the lowest range desktop cpu can beat most of the core i7 mobile processor ? But they did mention that g4560 is missing AVX.. whats that ?

Basic PC can be done but playing 4k video might be a problem due to weak CPU.

Pentium G4560 - 276
Asus H110M-K (remind the seller to update BIOS) -279
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 314
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 210
Coolermaster Elite 350W - 139
Tecware F3 case - 145

RM1363 total (C-Zone prices)

Motherboard doesnt have HDMI.
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/H110M-K/overview/

Change it to H110M-D. That comes with HDMI. Problem with motherboard manufacturers is they don't tell you which version. Hopefully it works. HD 610 does support 4k.
https://ark.intel.com/products/97143/Intel-...-Cache-3_50-GHz

Still can't guarantee the smoothness due to weak CPU.

I have a G4560 for my media storage PC and with the HD Graphics it struggles with 4K playback. Very choppy. Thats why I paired with a spare R7 250 to help with encoding. I can say is with the discrete GPU, 4K content is much better.

4k means you need to get the best graphic card for the budget. Still cannot guarantee but I think DOTA 2 is quite light. Other AAA games definitely need GTX 1080 minimum.

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 - 819
Asus Prime B350M-A - 445
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 319
Zotac GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 - 1309
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 210
Corsair VS 550W - 248
Tecware Edge case - 199

RM3549 total (C-Zone prices)

If no cooling, your hardware overheat already.

since I'm building Ryzen rig, is G.Skill Flare X (3200mhz) worth it? or RipjawsV (2800mhz) is enough? not going to overclock but wanted the best RAM for value.
