Hi guys.. wanted to setup a HTPC.. looking at a desktop ard rm1000- rm1500... wanted to hook it up to my 4k samsung tv.. hence a 4k video output at 60hz will be great.. any suggestion ? Is it cheaper to just buy ready make desktop ?

Basic PC can be done but playing 4k video might be a problem due to weak CPU.

Hey tristan, what would you recommend for a monitor for this build? roughly around RM400 plus or so with 1080?

1) Should I want a wifi link, a USB or a link card would a better choice? What would you recommend?
2) Then regarding the OS, are the ones you see selling the key for 20-30 on lelong site legit? And should i purchase those, will the people i buy the parts from help install it?

Lol sorry i meant 1080p for the monitor. GPU will definitely be either the 3Gb or 6Gb 1060 zotac

And for the Wifi USB vs PCI Network card, is it true that the card is usually more reliable or there isnt any difference to this any more?

Asus B350-PLUS should be around RM500ish. That power supply is crap. Get something better like Super Flower Leadex Silver.

Yeah, i7-7700 isn't value for money especially when you can get extra 2 cores from AMD Ryzen 5 1600. It will blow i7 away on video editing.

Can Gigabyte B250M-D3H (with Corsair VS 450W) fit into Tecware QUAD MINI CUBE? Interested with the washable and mesh filter. No intention to put GPU.

Secondly, i'm looking for 16GB DDR4 2400, any concern with avexir and g.skill brand? It's not as mainstream as corsair or kingston

I see...since I'm not buying the parts and building it myself, there's not much choice there. In the list that I see, there is FSP and also Cooler Master. Would it be ok? What are the recommendation if its either of these two brand?

Btw, I'm building the rig through Idealtech.

Idealtech carries Super Flower. FSP is still last resort. Ignore that Cooler Master.

Darn it.

I have saved up RM 4000 and there's only RM 800 left from reach my budget target (RM 4800) right now, yet the price update and the removal of the items from yesterday keeps ruining my plan for new PC.
