[B][Budget] 4k (pc+display+mechanical keyboard+gaming mouse)

[Purpose] gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] n.a.

[Monitor resolution] 1920x1080

[Personal preferences] above 20 inch display

Which mechanical keyboard and gaming mouse do you have in your mind currently? I'm asking this because you know that there are some brands which are very expensive out there and might increase your burden even more if you decide to get them sweat.gif

AMD AM4+ doesn't have any ITX mobo in Malaysia yet but since you aren't going to buy now, the build might not be the same anymore in the next couple of months, for now, it will be based on Intel LGA1151 ITX build.

Intel Core i5 7400 - RM 773
ASRock H110M-ITX - RM 283
G.SKill Aegis 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 275
Zotac GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 Mini - RM 1219
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 210
CM Elite 110 - RM 158
ViewSonic VA2259-SH IPS - RM 449

Total: RM 3586 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)

Left around RM 400 for peripherals, if you don't plan triple A titles, you can downgrade the GPU to GTX1050Ti and add in an SSD to boost the system responsiveness and boot time.

Building a new workstation cum gaming station.

Will be opening lots of applications such as chrome tabs, firefox tabs, excels, words, PDFs, paints, anti virus, few MMORPGs, CSGO and DotA 2.

It will be a dual monitor setup.

CPU: Ryzen 1700

Motherboard: Must support NVMe SSD

RAM: 32GB or 64GB DDR4 3200MHz ram

GPU: AMD Radeon RX Vega, will be using my 750 Ti till Vega is launched

SSD: Reusing 500GB Crucial MX100 SSD, is upgrading to Samsung 960 Pro worth it? More concerned about the IOPS and 4K speed.

Power Supply: Please advise

Casing: Would like to get a super cool looking white casing with good ventilation and cable management

Would also like to get my PC as cool and as quiet as possible, any recommendation for fans and coolers?

Lastly, would like to do RGB lighting for my PC as well.

Thanks.

No budget range?

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 - RM 1599
MSI X370 Gaming Pro (RGB) - RM 1000
G.SKill Trident Z RGB 32GB (8GB x 4) DDR4 3200MHz RAM - RM 1670
GPU re-use
SSD re-use
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
Superflower Leadex Gold 650W White - RM 479
Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass RGB White - RM 419
Corsair Lighting Node Pro - RM 289

Total: RM 5675 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)

The casing above supports MSI Mystic Light Sync feature of the MSI X370 mobo. Since CPU overclocking is not in the topic so a 3rd party CPU cooler is not included in the build list now (will rely on AMD Wraith Spire for now).

RGB everything, so I picked a set of RGB RAM, as well as Corsair RGB LED strip & its controller, as for the casing fan, you can go for RGB fan like NZXT AER, Corsair HD120 RGB & Thermaltake RIING RGB etc.

960 Pro is fast but expensive, do you deal with a lot of file transfers or small block of files everyday? If yes then it will benefit you, if no then I wouldn't recommend you to get it unless you have a lot of budget for it, hardly feel the difference between a NVMe SSD and SATA SSD in real life normal usage pattern whistling.gif

And I am not sure if you need the monitors or not, you said it will be a dual monitor setup but didn't tell us whether you need them in the build list or not. Chances of you owning the monitors are there so I'll skip it for now.

Budget too low for GTX 1070 and SFF. SFX PSU jacks up the price.

Core i5-7500 - 899
Biostar B150S1 D4 HI FI ITX - 349
Apacer 8GB DDR4-2133 x1 - 239
GTX 1070 - 1700 (Look for second hand at garage sales)
WD Black 1TB 2.5" - 299
Silverstone SFX 600W - 569
Silverstone ML08B case - 339 (estimated)

RM4394 total

Oh, look for Corsair SF 600 PSU if you could find it. It performs better. Also, would not recommend i5 with GTX1070. It bottlenecks on certain games.

I'm using Raijintek Metis, hand-carried over from Australia back to MY. Can consider this case if you can find one near you.

He's looking for Super Flower or Seasonic based PSU.

Coolermaster V series (full modular only) is another option if you can find it on sale. It is Seasonic based as well.

What's the purpose of the rig? Gaming? Workstation?
