Calculation and table of estimated prices can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN

If calculating 19/11 to 25/11 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), the actual retail price for RON95 & RON97 should be RM1.59 and RM1.89 respectively (±1 sen).

If we follow the Automatic Pricing Mechanism and Sales Tax Act, the government is allowed to "tax" us higher by 60sen per litre for petrol products sold.

Normally, the government applied a hidden tax of approximately 8 sen. Thus, I estimate that RON95 and RON97 would increase by 3 sen from last week to RM1.67 and RM1.97 respectively (±1 sen).

It could be because MYR has strengthen against USD, hence the quantum of increase is lesser.

Calculation and table of estimated prices can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN

If calculating 3/12 to 9/12 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), the actual retail price for RON95 & RON97 should be RM1.68 and RM1.98 respectively (±1 sen).

If we follow the Automatic Pricing Mechanism and Sales Tax Act, the government is allowed to "tax" us higher by 60sen per litre for petrol products sold.

Last week, the government applied a hidden tax of approximately 5 sen when it usually applies 8 sen as seen in the past few weeks. Thus, I estimate that RON95 and RON97 would increase by 3 sen from last week to RM1.73 and RM2.03 respectively (±1 sen).

Calculation and table of estimated prices can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN

If calculating 10/12 to 16/12 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), the actual retail price for RON95 & RON97 should be RM1.72 and RM2.02 respectively (±1 sen).

If we follow the Automatic Pricing Mechanism and Sales Tax Act, the government is allowed to "tax" us higher by 60sen per litre for petrol products sold.

For the past 2 weeks, the government applied a hidden tax of approximately 5 sen when it usually applies 8 sen as seen in the past. As the calculation is exactly RM1.72 and RM2.02 respectively this week, this would usually incur an extra 1 sen in the pricing (due to currency exchange rate etc). Thus, I estimate that RON95 and RON97 would increase by 5 sen from last week to RM1.78 and RM2.08 respectively (±1 sen).

If calculating 17/12 to 23/12 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), the actual retail price for RON95 & RON97 should be RM1.75 and RM2.05 respectively (±1 sen).

If we follow the Automatic Pricing Mechanism and Sales Tax Act, the government is allowed to "tax" us higher by 60sen per litre for petrol products sold.

For the past few weeks, the government applied a hidden tax of approximately 5 sen. Thus, I estimate that RON95 and RON97 would increase by 2 sen from last week to RM1.80 and RM2.10 respectively (±1 sen).

note: The Australian Institute of Petroleum where I get the MOPS95 graph below will usually take a 2 week break for Christmas and New Year holidays. I expect to not be able to update the fuel price for the next 2 weeks. Have a Merry Christmas to those that celebrate it & happy holidays to all!
