QUOTE(budang @ Apr 9 2020, 12:25 PM) Personal estimation, RON95 will decrease 4-5 cents this week, so it will be RM1.25/L +-1cents. As usual, pure guessing, don't shoot me. I was right for the second week But of course just pure guessing game, no scientific theory behind the numbers.

As per MOF media release they are still using the APM formula. Unless there is some other new formula used. QUOTE(dinozilla @ Apr 10 2020, 05:59 PM) now its appears to me they operate like some kind of delayed price adjustment...to minimize impact

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Apr 9 2020, 05:03 PM) Is it? I haven't fill up 100 again since 3 weeks ago. 100 is useful only for turbo cars targeting high boost levels, like over 1.5 bars, and maybe some very high spec NA performance cars. I retract back my statement b4. Ya, suddenly read about vw modify..some tune their car to accept minimum 97. Some tune their car for ron 100. Simply crazy. Got massive power improve. But no longer suitable for 95 otherwise output cannot achieve. I think ur evo might need ron 100 for fully optimize power depends on how u modify ur car.

Got massive power improve. But no longer suitable for 95 otherwise output cannot achieve. I think ur evo might need ron 100 for fully optimize power depends on how u modify ur car. Depends on how aggressive you want the tuning to be. Surely Evos or similar other turbo cars can gain even more power if using ron 100 coz you can tune the timing and boost higher. For 4G63, 2JZ or other similar over engineered JDM engines, practically sky is the limit so you just have to set your own target power level and budget then tune to reach that. For my target power I can still get it with 97, maybe even just 95 but the safety margin with 95 should be lesser. I am planning to go a bit more aggressive by installing water methanol kit which theoretically will shoot up the octane rating to over 100, hence increasing the safety margin for more higher timing and boost.

Calculation and table of estimated prices can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBNIf calculating 9/4 to 15/4 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), the actual retail price for RON95 & RON97 should be RM0.90 and RM1.20 respectively (±1 sen). If we follow the previous Automatic Pricing Mechanism and Sales Tax Act, the government is allowed to "tax" us higher by 60sen per litre for petrol products sold.

It's crazy to see that petrol price is continuously lower than crude price. You don't see that often! That's how bad the market is right now.

Personal estimation, RON95 will decrease 3-4 cents this week, so it will be RM1.21 / RM1.22 per litre
As usual, pure guessing, don't shoot me.

At shell, what is RON100 called? Im a bit confused. Want to try the RON100 but they have Vpower (red color, not sure RACING variant or not) for RM2.60/L
If it isn't RON100 why is it so expensive compare to regular RON97?
