Fill in 26.8l Ron95 today,
Rawang ~ Batu Gajah Perak Highway
Batu Gajah ~ Rawang Old Road

Travelled 380KM, 2 bar left. Fuel estimation when filled in is around 34.28l, fuel left after travel 11.428l (2bar). 34.28l-11.428l = 22.852 fuel used.

380KM/22.852= 16.6KM/l

Can get a better figure when next service is perform. Currently clocked at 9.1K KM and I feel like the engine sound is harsh, maybe the oil changes is due.
*
omg.. I got rival to beat rclxub.gif

However I just fill up, got myself a 15.9km/l with 30% city and 70% highway

15.9KM/l is quite good. I guess 17KM/l is achieveable if I'm not fooling around when going back home and also I was ferrying 4 full size adult including me, which make the car weight around 1.5 tonne.
From the start owning, always fill in at Petronas.
*
Yeah.. I do feel FC is getting better..

by the way how's the acceleration of the car? Is it linear now?
mine it's still as good as the day I changed the stop switch lamp biggrin.gif

You may call proton hotline if really urgent, there is a memo to fix this by proton when you service the car. Or get to nearest proton service centre to get them fixed tmr.

hello, want to ask, is it when we press the esc off button, the light of esc off will ignite above the meter gauge there? because juz now nothing happen, no any indicator light on, when i press the esc off button.thanks
*
Yes, once the ESC is off, you will see the "Esc Off" lit at the meter cluster there. To turn it off you need to press and hold for a few seconds like say 3-5 seconds? It will activate back if you drive above certain speed, if not mistaken 90km/h

Nearly come to my 1000km, any recommendation on service center around PJ or KJ?

form this tread Rate Your Proton Service Center

its look like Senaxis is good, anyone been there?

Can walk in or need appointment?
*
If you have any issue need them to attend, I would suggest COSE at Shah Alam, normal oil change, any service centre should be ok.

Anyone still got shift gear slow response issue for MT after more than 3k mileage?

Any solution for it ?

I don't suffer such power lost anymore... acceleration is much linear now... some other part also due to I got accustomed to it on releasing the clutch for a more linear acceleration.. ofcourse if I release clutch too quick, I'll still feel the pull back, but this pull back also exist on my other ride if clutch released too quick. Atleast now going up hill I don't have to pedal down so much as compared to before I change the switch stop lamp rclxm9.gif

Too good to be true like I said the meter is not linear haha. But then I could be wrong because I don't own a Persona VVT yet. tongue.gif

Actually you don't need to empty the fuel tank to know how much you had used. Just fill up full tank and reset your trip mileage. On the next refill, fill up full tank again. The second refill volume is how much fuel you had used up in that trip. Divide your trip mileage with that volume = KM/L.

If you want even more accurate, make the fuel guns jump three times in each refill. tongue.gif at the same pump. tongue.gif
*
There were twice where the fuel overflow at just 1st click even I fixed the nozzle gauge at lowest pressure... that's why I never use the 3 clicks method before on this car sweat.gif

To determine on or off, you have to look at the meter cluster instead of the button you highlighted.

At the meter cluster you can see if you turned off the Stability Control with orange like lit exactly the same logo shown at the button with the "Off" words

At the same time, the meter cluster also will show when the stability control actually kicked in when you lose traction, there will be another light lit similar to the button but without the "Off" words

Its good to hear you have no complaints with your car thumbsup.gif
You may proceed to any SC for the oil change, before confirming at the counter, pls confirm with them what is compulsory and what's not (like fuel treatment is optional)

Guys, I've seen a few shots that showing the RPM meter idling at around 700 to 800rpm... meanwhile mine usually idling around 900-1000... is it because mine was MT?

I see.. so It's normal after all... but still somewhat a bit high RPM compared to most new cars

Most of the time, just me alone driving, max also 1 more passenger.
Acceleration for my car is very good i would say. Just revving to 2000 is enough to pull the car from standstill to 40km/h which is very enough in city. Stepping in a little more to 2200 - 2300rpm, the car accelerates to 60-80 very quickly. I actually think the acceleration is very smooth and fast so the driving pleasure is great.
My boot is empty, just a pair of shoes so car load wise, shouldn't be a problem.
My weight is just 68kg so i really couldn't think of other thing else other than the PWR

If full load, I can feel the car a bit suffering but still ok. I guess that's normal.

This is a good car, but the FC is like 2.0 car...
*
I wasn't sure about your driving style, but going 2k rpm to 2.5k rpm sounds like a bit heavy foot to me.. you may try slower and smoother acceleration by slowly paddling down..

That's what I don't like about automatic transmission especially CVT, it keep giving you the urge to floor down more to feel the rev while actually if you maintain your foot is actually accelerating the car, but we just like to hear the engine roar more to actually believe its accelerating. Especially for this Persona, its really good in masking the speed and push to back feel compared to other car, the acceleration is there, just that we don't often feel it...

But since you came from Lancer which is also CVT, you should be more familiar on this than me hmm.gif

Your Persona mileage how much?

...but when I drive high way, half tank can reach 300KM!!... full tank probably can go 600-700KM!!

My mileage just 4k
Yes. I am quite familiar with CVT and actually cvt not that bad.
Just can't stand the fc but I see most of the bros here get very decent fc so I start to think it's my driving style or really the car is really that thirsty ...
*
Sorry didn't have CVT to contribute some result... mine just MT and doing great... now at 350KM still have 3 bars left...

30% city and 70% highway with roughly half an hour bumper to bumper traffic

but if purposely drive like this to get the FC, there's no more fun in the drive d...
I think a good engine should be efficient in fuel and if driving spiritly then makan minyak that one can understand
I'm just driving like 60 - 80 and i still can't get a good FC is really disturbing.
Don't tell me i need to drive 40-60 just to get a normal FC ...  biggrin.gif
*
I don't think the key to save fuel is the speed.. its more about how you accelerate.

Like drsmallkid said, to save fuel you have to keep the eco indicator on most of the time. The eco indicator will lit after about 25km/h if u drive economically, the rest is a course of how to drive the car gently and plan your journey like not accelerating unreasonably when there's a stop in front and overtaking aggressively.

Yes it will definitely kill the fun, this is no award winning engine, its just an engine that does better than its previous engine.
If you have time to keep a watch on Nissan Almera thread, despite having VVT on both the intake and exhaust and being lighter than Persona, the fuel consumption is no where better than this Persona.

Previous generation Persona AT I only manage to stretch 350km from full tank till low fuel indicator lit, in my opinion this VVT is also doing better than the previous gen Persona.

cheeshong drsmallkid and those who got less than 280km for 1 tank

Care to share your Average speed and total driving time for that fuel up?

For my last fuel up I get around average of 45km/h and somewhere 12 hours drive time, most of other fuel up, I got similar reading as well.

It manage to travel around 460km and still have 2 bars left... the fuel up got me around 31 litre of fuel. total time involved in bumper to bumper traffic is around 2 hours for this fuel up... the rest is mix highway and city drive 50 50

Has anyone changed their stock tyres to other brand? Thinking of changing soon, but I'm a bit of a noob to find which brand provides less noise and comfort. Suggestion, anyone? smile.gif
*
For quiet and comfort you can try CC6, seen a lot good review about its quietness and comfort. But since this is not a performance tyre, don't expect for superior wet grip

Yours is MT? Boss also drive MT? Whereas most of us drive CVT.

It ls stated that at constant 90kph, MT use less fuel than CVT.

So, do we have to take this into consideration when comparing FC?
*
Just to see only.. these figure can tell something more about our similarity of driving condition

By right MT and CVT shouldn't differ too much in fuel consumption.. but there's one more MT owner say the FC is bad too... so let's see

QUOTE(paganizonda @ Mar 12 2017, 08:52 PM)
the stock silverstone kruzer is super f****ing loud idk why. Anyone here finds out that the tyre noise of the persona is sooo loud? I think michelin primacy is pretty good too!
*
Yes, the stock Silverstone is very loud. Somehow I do find it pretty grippy... so far I never skid except boss
Not sure if I already used to it or the tire run in already, I find the noise is less annoying/loud now...

460km with 2 bar left fulamak.... My cvt persona can only manage to go 430km with 70% highway 30% city hahahahaha. Manual persona is so much more efficient than the cvt. Mind telling whats the rpm when u r going at around 100kmh?
*
Based on gear ratio calculation along with current stock tire setup, we are getting around 103km/h at 3k rpm for 5th gear
If based on meter, around 2.8-2.9k rpm at 100km/h

You mean get this info from the meter cluster?
But anyhow my cvt won't be close to your FC.
Last few days I have been driving super eco ly. And gosh it's really boring. I used to drive 80-110kmh easily on highway but now I just can only take the middle lane and sometimes the slow lane, at 60kmh or max 80kmh. FC improved with additional 50km for half tank. If drive like this still not good FC then the engine really can throw d...I not yet pump petrol so will try again this time with full tank.
*
Ya, from the meter cluster... I always reset at each full fuel up.

But however, I would suggest to drive the car the way you like, you don't have to follow our ah pek style driving to get good FC since I believe the motive you got this car is not just for the FC or you would have go for Bezza instead.

If it makes u to be another person that you don't feel comfortable with, just drive the way you like would make u a happier man flex.gif

Another worth mentioning torture for fuel save is not to hit down the accelerator too much when going uphill, best if you can just maintain the throttle. But this will be Super unsatisfying watching your speed drop, cars at your back is getting closer to you but still not doing anything to it laugh.gif

Just now I use my obd2 to read the data from ecu, I am using torque lite Android app with my Bluetooth obd2. The only thing closest to the engine temperature that I can see from the app is "engine coolant temperature" . Others are not relevant. Maybe if use the paid version can get more info. But anyway, this is what I saw

60c to 74c = our 2 bars
75c onwards is 3 bars.

Driving from usj to puchong, I keep an eye on the app, the whole journey, the temperature is between 75-78c

Not sure this helps
*
If this is accurate, I guess the engine operate at pretty normal temperature, just that the temperature bar between 2nd and 3rd is within the optimal operating temperature, a slight change would make it drop to 2nd bar
