Im still following this thread but seldom and lazy to post..anyway received sms from proton just now..new pricing for service schedule..
http://www.proton-edar.com.my/pdf/service-...vice%20Menu.pdf
The timing belt change only by 110,000 km?  But much cheaper ady, my old persona changed by 80k km last time rm800±+ not included oil change and other services..
*
Yeah, I also received an sms today, my MT fluid change is at 100k km now shocking.gif

Anyway, I feel the labour charge has increased, a normal service for just oil change cost about RM70 just for the labour itself... rclxub.gif

However parts seeing huge drop in price even for the lub at just RM100

MT owners here, do any of you experience a brief hesitation after upshifting to a higher gear? It happens very obvious when you do a quick upshift, the hesitation can be felt in a fraction of a second at the moment you release your clutch and plant your gas pedal to the floor.

Has anyone experienced this? It's kinda annoying as the power doesn't come through instantaneously while the gas pedal has been fully depressed. sad.gif
*
Control your clutch, release slower, and floor the accelerator at the right time... do it slightly early before releasing clutch

I have no issue driving like the way you described, and the acceleration is buttery smooth. The problem happens when I'm driving in a rush (with slightly quicker gear shift), then the symptom will be noticeable. I literally don't have to shift the gears like a racer to get the problem to occur. It just happens at any engine speed, at any gear, at any engine temperature.  sweat.gif

Yours is MT too?  wink.gif
*
Yeap, MT on mine.

ESC work fine too, at u-turn in front paradigm mall, the car slipped, luckily ESC kicked in and adjust the car back on track, maybe the infamous greasing the road by the tow truck is real ranting.gif

Actually what so good about the rear seat headrest?

I had a few passenger who prefer this current headrest setup at rear for this Persona because they complain those adjustable headrest is not comfortable for sleep, they prefer this soft wan on Persona hmm.gif

Plus its not like u got so much chance to sit at the rear pun dry.gif

Briefly going through this thread, my impression is some persona having real bad dashboard noise, some with little noise and some owners are lucky with no dashboard noise.

Looks like quality inconsistency here. Kalo nak beli jugak memang kena pray a lot laa
*
Here, insist for a unit that came with new HU, that'll atleast helps to reduce the chance of having bad rattling.

and p/s: the one who keep making noise doesn't represent everyone's opinion, that still counts as 1 feedback if u ask me.

4.  upgrade to 16'' wheel with stock suspension... car handling improve alot, tyre size 205/50/16..  almost 11 month using 16'' wheel
*
Which Falken u use? Ecorun Ziex 914?

How's the wet/dry grip, noise and comfort?

i read this thread got some user complained that persona vvt is very heavy and much heavier than cars in the same class such as honda city and toyota vios

but i checked their weights and both honda city and vios have almost same weight across all specs, around 1110kg

while persona is 1155 to 1210 depending on specs, its almost 100kg heavier for the heaviest, but some said its more than 100kg heavier than vios/city and exaggerate it

is proton lying about the weight on their brochure? i read some here say persona is 1280kg blink.gif
*
For persona weight, you should take the 1175 kg as benchmark which is CVT standard and 1210kg for Full Spec since City only have CVT, the 1155kg for Persona is Standard MT due to MT is lighter (but still way heavier than competitor in auto)

Persona
Standard CVT weight 1175kg
Full Spec CVT weight 1210kg

Vios
standard CVT weight 1095kg (80kg lighter to Persona)
Full Spec CVT weight 1115kg (95kg lighter to Persona)

City
Standard CVT weight 1075kg (100kg lighter to Persona)
Full Spec CVT weight 1106kg (104kg lighter to Persona)

From here, you can compare that technically Persona is somewhere 100kg + - heavier than Vios and City

Note: This 100kg difference is like the weight of 2 lady in decent body or a obese guy in their 100kg

Yup its still alot heavier compared to vios n city, n its gonna hav an effect on fuel consumption

But i guess for the price we couldnt complain much
*
Fuel consumption cannot rival those like vios and City due to weight and of course the engine is not as advance as theirs too. But the fuel consumption wasn't too far behind anyway.
So the fuel consumption is actually Ok in my opinion considering these facts

hello, my SA told me that we must service our car before 1000 km.. (1st service) around 800-900 km. if not, then if even slightly over 1000 km, then they will count as 2nd service. is that true??
*
No such thing, but still better to service not exceeding 1k km for engine protection
