Super noob here. I already am running netflix in atv3.

Can sm1 explain to me.
If i get any of these android boxes, can i

- run a webpage in chrome to watch on line movies ? I mean can i install a web browser app to use the browser as how i use it in my phone ?

- can i install plex in these media players ?

I need such options as atv3 can't the above. Tried plexconnect, but smthg is failing.

Teamviewer can even control your box while you're out of the house...lol... fyi I think you may not have installed the proper host file...

In addition to the host / client app...you'll also need to register a free account...

The Wukong apps posted by OCMAX is another alternative

If you're using Himedia with Hisilicon SoC, you also have the HiControl apk

Yes. But I don't use chrome. Some browser will play video in its window...some will handover to the native player. But there are so many apps to play video...this method only for last resort...

Yes to Plex.

But Netflix depending on box, you may not get 4K or HD...

The TeamViewer I got is from play store.

This is common with boxes.

But i am surprised astrogo doesnt work on yr android phone.

I refer to current version 8.1.9.

It works on my android tablet.

It also works on my tv which has google androidtv.

And i think it works on all devices running on androidtv... shield, mibox and sony, sharp, philips 4k tvs.


Similarly, google androidtv also fine with hypptv everywhere, unlike many boxes giving error 111.

Again as mentioned before I am looking ofr the fastest and most hassle free method to set-up the box. Get nervous as setting up in the living room got many family members waiting.

is anyone here heard about a new tv box which they claim only pay few hundreds for life time.
If you get 3 people to join then you will no need to pay that few hundreds.
You can watch all channels including astro channels.
Kind like pyramid system.

I also forget what the box name already.

Anyone knows about this?

What kind of TV channels you wish to watch? There are free live TV app that doesn't have geo-block.

free astro channels? even the paid IPTV are blocked by Astro.

Oh is it. That sounds ok- as long it can run the video in if lt or another app.

Also good if can run plex.

Those come with the box normally has add-on ads and geo-block or you need to pay for VIP member account but there is a few I know is truly free. less & NO ads.

DNS is Domain Name Server...no impact on geo-blocking...just helps you with internet access, eg. you want google search, you type google.com, DNS will search for google.com and redirect you to 216.58.196.206...otherwise you will have to remember all the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx addresses....

you can use your pc in the office/starbucks to control your android box at home...the program you install in your pc is a "client"

So you change your DNS settings.. Then what? Still depends on the DNS server routing your connections from the blocked app to their servers and said servers accepting the DNS server as legit.. I don't use MangoTv and so you'd have to test yourself... Personally, security risk.. i don't simply use DNS servers plucked off the public internet.. Get a paid premium VPN instead.. the really good ones ain't cheap and should work..

Kodi does not require changing your DNS servers to operate.

Meaning, there's a Teamviewer software for computers which can access the box too.. Not just from a mobile phone/tablet...
TLDR: Can control android device from PC..

If you like all sorts of crap being installed on your box.. Crap waiting to breakdown and trust me, breakdown they will.. Then sure, use some "auto-configure/script", bla bla... Nothing beats manual installation and maintenance.. You know exactly what goes in or out and when. Cleaner, leaner machine.. IMO.

to be frank Teamviewer laggy and everytime it need approval from the host.

example: if my ipad goes to sleep mode, it need to login again. that being say the remote control no longer working after that.

It's called "Quick Support" for a reason.. Not built for long-term connection.

yeah! that's why I used Wukong remote that works better for my case. It has apk & ipa installer. icontro only for android devices.
