I amend my Chromecast with Google TV review as my previous statement is wrong.

Plex
- It is very powerful and support up to 4K HDR REMUX video but with some condition not in Dolby TrueHD track as this device is not support Lossless track. You can either use Plex add-on for KODI to let it playback as LPCM, off course this lost the Dolby Atmos like Apple TV 4K. Plex official apps is not supported output as LPCM but allow transcode to AAC but the quality is even worst than compatible lossy track. So far I only know Nvidia Shield TV Pro is the only device supported Lossless track.

Get the various iptv from shopee. Netflix only in SD if not mistaken

Are u getting 4k dolby vision, dolby atmos on Disney+?

Nice review on Chromecast Google TV. How's the heat on this box after few hours use, getting 4k content on Disney+ and limitation of space?

Heat was ok, not an issue, now MCO, I open it most the time as long I am awake but I at aircon room.
I very rare turn on my Apple TV 4K (2021) already now. Haha!
The usage now is like 95% Chromecast with Google TV, 5% of Apple TV 4K where 5% is when I want to stream local content as Infuse Pro for Apple TV 4K still did much better than Plex for any platform.

Space do is issue as it is only 4 GB available like the rest TV Box that is capacity 8 GB.
So you cannot install too many apps and definitely not very enough for gaming, unless you plan using USB hub to external storage where I not testing yet as I don't have the device.

The interface will reload, this will occurred if you change region to others country as it needs to load based on the region.
Sometimes it also happened I think due to open too many apps and they is no recent apps interface (this is big cons), so I map a key to kill all task if I feel the interface slow down.

For Streaming, it did brilliantly up to 4K HDR / Dolby Vision (in support TV). Most the time instant sharp and clear, I find it did much better than Apple TV 4K especially Netflix where Apple TV 4K need a little time to catch up to be sharp and clear.
Off course open any apps was instant in Apple TV 4K but take a little times in Chromecast with Google TV. (Ignore Amazon Prime Video, this apps is slow in any platform).

For sound wise, support up to Dolby Atmos in DD+, not support Dolby Atmos in Dolby TrueHD as the device not support lossless track, the Dolby Atmos is lost when playback as LPCM.

Here is the total apps I install and space now only left 53 MB.
I had install until 0 MB also no issue and don't have any annoying indication telling you the space is full.

Energy Optimisation
I always feel the lips sync a bit out of sync but not in Netflix.
Now I found the culprit as nearly all apps after install is turn on Energy Optimisation by default. But this is not the case for Netflix.

Highly recommended Turn off Energy Optimisation for all the streaming apps.
With this off, they is no more lips sync issue.

I was thinking to get myself a Mi Box S, but then my kids love playing Android games. They’ve actually installed tons of games on my TX6, and I feel its kinda laggy now. Should I get myself something better like Nvidia Shield Pro or any other suggestions?

How is the gaming experience on Nvidia Shield Pro? Would my kids be able to play multiplayers? I wouldnt want them to pull hairs fighting over a single remote/gamepad.

And what gamepads are good for Nvidia Shield Pro?

Getting 4k on Disney+? Have reports mentioning this limitation

GameSir G4S is one good option which is inexpensive and if 2 kids love playing android games, yes, recommended to go NS Pro

No issue for Disney+ or Disney+Hotstar in 4K HDR or 4K Dolby Vision.

Certain show is 4K HDR/Dolby Vision in Disney+ but not in Disney+Hotstar is Hotstar distributor issue as Hotstar did not provide it. This had nothing to do with any TV Box as Hotstar is the one to blame.

It is unnecessary.

Many people using CCwGTV at FB Disney+Hotstar group and 1st time I heard from here got issue on 4K HDR playback at Disney+.

No one had facing this issue at there and no one talk about it.

If you aim for gaming, Nvidia Shield TV Pro is the better option.

Mi Box S is no longer good for streaming and gaming TV Box anymore.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before. Can anyone recommend me a tv box for my old lcd tv? Budget preferrably below rm200, i only use it to stream youtube, netflix and wetv and my home unifi speed is only 30mbps. It would be better if it has google play. Thanks in advance

I use it to run KODI. Stream 4K movies, H.265 movies also no problem.

I have been using it for 2 years and doing fine. But I just have to add on fan to cool it down as I place it inside my tv cabinet.

Well if you are using old LCD and intending to watch in particular Netflix in HD at least, latest Mecool KM2 or Chromecast Google TV would be ideal though you'll not benefit fro dolby vision or atmos. However should you upgrade your tv in future this box can still be use. So other app you mentioned works perfectly fine.
Those MX Tanix SVI etc can't even handle Netflix in HD let alone UHD

P/S: I've a Mecool KM9 Pro 2/16gb ATV as spare loaded with various apk Disney+, Netflix HD but you'll need to get your own subscription for $155 incl postage if you want. I've too many spare boxes lying around. 😂
