thank you for your kind suggestion. However, I did bought the mibox s right after and its currently doing me justice at its price point so perhaps a future upgrade as I start my venture android box section and explore more.

Once again, Thank you.

from shopee got 1 seller rm899 but with the 10% coins can save rm89.9 equivalent coins. So still not a bad price. Saw nvidia shield has it streaming problem also like matching frame rate to remove judder but if use kodi no issue. The only thing is beelink cannot passthru dtshd and no atmos etc which is a real let down for me la cos if this cannot then is same like i use my TV playback already. My tv all file can read but canot passthru loseless. At least shield can do so. Maybe the new king with nas one is the ultimate but it aint cheap and really super bulky lol like mini itx pc already. But Using PC is really a problem also, the implementation of hdr is really bad and not straightforward.

H96Max S905X3 vs Tanix TX3 S905X3 vs Xiaomi Mi box

Which one should i get for budget around rm350? i have read the first page but i'm still quite confuse about it. Initially going for xiaomi but 2gb ram and 8gb rom does not seems to be enough. Other recommendation are always welcome. Prefer best bang for buck.

Now those 2 sometimes are in conflict of each other.. I assume since your TV is non-smart...Means no dedicated netflix app? So you'd want at least FHD Netflix? or can you live with max 480/540p res (stock) or modded 1080p (beelink + CoreELEC or some modded Netflix app)? The latest MiBox is a certified Netflix device, however it's a poor AOTG device.

Imo, if my box comes preloaded with all those apps channels etc, i immediately uninstall them. Then i installed those what i usually use eg CinemaHD / CyberflixTV, CyroseHD (official), a few backups such as TeaTV / TyphoonTV.

As for 'proper' apps, there's Stremio (an excellent streaming app which uses torrent, so u need a vpn such as ExpressVPN or u can even use a free vpn such as 1.1.1.1 app). Fyi, I'm using umobile GX30 hotspot, so streaming torrent speed average 1MB/s is good enough for Stremio. The more seeders, the faster and smoother the movie plays. Also I installed iFlix, AstroGo, and UnifiTV.

For live tv (MyFreeview local broadcast), i use Tivimate or OTT Navigator, or even Kodi for that matter. Speaking of Kodi, there are a few K-Drama addons for the wife, (lcdrama & Dramago).

Lastly, youtube wise, obviously the Smart Youtube TV app.

The rest, ES File Explorer file manager, WinRAR, ShareIt, PDAnet, Internet Speed Meter (to display the net speed, i placed it at the top right corner, so I can easily monitor my net speed).

Very good reference summary for a newbie like me.
Dont mind if i ask, what tv box are you using? I thought unifitv is not compatible with android tv box?

UnifiTV is compatible with some boxes.. It used to work well on Minix devices.. But I'm unsure if it still does today. If you or someone else is willing to provide login info? I'd be glad to try em out on the devices I have and report back. smile.gif

Yeah... Actually, that was one of my initial thoughts. FreeNAS or even openmediavault. Well, that and possibly using it as a plug n forget...ehem... p2p seed-box too. brows.gif Although, at this time there isn't talk of either OS being able to installed on it. For now, just dual-booting Android 9.0 & CoreELEC (free 8GB micro-sd card preloaded is included in each box for free) is confirmed.. I expect . At minimum it should be able to handle file-sharing. That's just a basic NAS feature. sweat.gif

For YouTube and a smoother user experience between those 2 choices? Definitely the MiBox S. Plus point, it's a proper Android TV (ATV) OS device, it's Netflix certified, supports HDR10/HLG HDR processing and should get a couple solid updates from Xiaomi before it becomes officially unsupported. Just ensure you place it in a good wireless signal location for max performance and stability.

And yep, you can live without Asterruk... Cord-cutter here for years. BUT you have to be willing to either pay for the good stuffs (legit & ehem) and or hunt for free content yourself.

I am new to tvbox, planning to get a TV box connect to my 2K monitor maybe 4K TV in the future. After reading the first few pages and recent posts still dilemma to choose.
HK drama, Japanese drama, Korea drama, Taiwan show prefer to support Netflix as well.
Connection: LAN
Internet Speed: Maxis 30mbps
Prefer: smooth user experience
Considering: Xiaomi MiBox S
Any pro can suggest other brands like Himdeia/MiniX/nVidia Shield/others. Thanks!
