My reading of the posts is this :-

1. It's important to have a base which is Widevine L1 to start with.
2. And then you run a magic program provided by a nerd there. From what he described, it should work with any device which is Widevine L1 certified, but he cannot guarantee that.
3. He could not post the magic program under day light, because he worries that will cause the spoofing to be blocked by Netflix.

As for wifi, my opinion is by luck, even from same factory also could have issue due different chipset been used.

So far Minixfreak Rom been workings well on my 2 different brand S912 boxes.

For me hacking current box to maximize its use is easier ( less effort ) than to install new ROM. Too much unknown to jump onto another ROM.

I don't mind jumping if there is big item benefits, eg DRM Widevine L1.

Yup one need to ask him for the 2 files to get Netflix uhd on the km3 km9 pro mecool boxes... Also bcos this 2 boxes are Google certified too

However maybe Bro voncrane can attempt to test on the gt king of it works

I know that'll not work on M8S Pro L although it has widewine L1. So for now only the Netflix 6.7 build from apkpure will work at 480-720 dependant on your TV upscale capability

There is a complication with respect to Netflix. We already know these days Netflix also checks for root. They added on this check to their already too many checks.

True true and true.. Now I would have attempted flashing the ROM, etc all.. But given my past trials and this statement.."2. The spoof persists and survives reboots (to my surprise) even though our boxes are not rooted and thus will not permit permanent changes to system. (Of course, if we had root, Netflix wouldn't run at all, but that's a different kettle of fish).

Basically since the GT-King comes pre-rooted, is not Google certified and not pure ATV OS.. I'm disinclined to attempt.

Cannot... It's a hardware thing that's done at manufacturing stage. Can be added later, but must send back to manufacturer to do.. Return shipping costs and time alone are enough to get a Netflix certified device like the Chromecast, etc.

As above buddy..However, Since Superceleron has released an ATV ROM for the GT-King.. I'll give that a whirl, say over the weekend, see how it holds up and if I can get at least Netflix FHD to play.

This.. Netflix if very good at these checks.. Add in that they also verify server side? Tougher..

Same , too many tvbox online , don't know which one last long and warranty tend to said supplier warranty later spoil need 3 months to fix.

For that price range.. Mecool is alright.. KM9 or KM3 will do.... Once arrived just factory reset and update to latest firmware. "TV boxes" is not a mobile phone. They don't typically build or ship with Sim card slot abilities.. Get a phone and hdmi cable if that's important to you. Though I guarantee you that no RM300 or even RM400 phone will be as versatile as their box equivalent.

I bought my X92 (3gb+16gb variant) 2 years ago via Shopee for RM236 (after discount).
External wifi antenna, 4 usb slots.. ok la..

Why no conflict ? The post earlier by the freaktab guru ( and also other web site info ) say Netflix 4k cannot run if there is root.

If root and Netflix 4k are not conflict, then we use root to fake the 4k certified devices lar.

Just asking around , because if there is a tvbox that can insert a sim slot for data would be good if to subscribe a plan without using poor strmyx connection.Everytime need to do tethering and there is a limit on certain telco for tethering.
No phone now adays have hdmi out.
Now I am considering a Tv box or a Raspberry PI 4.Waiting for the review on raspberry pi 4 Cortex-A72 emulate on android.
As for remote , maybe a simple bluetooth air mouse will do.
