yes...initially when setting up kodi for the first time is fun...

but when you have other commitments and barely have free time...then kodi is not fun anymore

im using Kodi since the days of XBMC. i still use my HTPC right now for Kodi.
Reason is, i tried 2 android box (TX3 and MX10) and i find both box sound quality are inferior to my HTPC.
Maybe the audio driver is not good enough to drive my amp.

get around 250-350 box range....better hardware for better viewing experience...

back then me too have same question....but once used to the box...watching axtroX is like...mehhhhhh...

coz all of those axtroX offering is repeated old stuff recycled..... (not many latest or same day as us viewing offered)....

but for sure u cant switch channel as fast as simple 1click on axtroX remote....thats the downside...

try learn how the box operating by googling and youtube it more...for better and easier understanding before jumping into it..

since most of them auto update...hardly noticing any downside....

and i still prefer the fact that i can watch it anytime i want anywhere i want (phone+data)

so less prone to rushing back home to watch (or forgot to set pvr recording or set to pvr but program schedule clashed or set to pvr but hdd full already) laugh.gif

There's plenty, get at least S905X with 2gb/16gb and best is with android tv os 7.1.2 with your budget

Kodi is the most cumbersome apps. It waste time to setup and needs more waste time update it from time to time, some more freaking big.

I throw it long ago. Haha!

Getting the best out of Kodi is kinda like building a PC.. Build it with crap? You get crap. Build it with love and you get a beast anytime, anywhere. Some don't like it, but it ain't Kodi's fault. Just like you don't crash a fully functioning Porsche and then blame the car. Everyone knows Porsche makes excellent driving cars. Till date, Kodi remains the best and most powerful media player on multiple platforms. No contest.. smile.gif

Most TVs (except the ultra-super-sell-your-kidney-first type TVs...maybe then too laugh.gif) will struggle with such.. Other suggestions include the Minix Neo U9-H, and of course the Beasty Nvidia Shield TV Box.

Yah i guess so but its really confusing cus the big file plays fine (although some without sound cus DTS is unsupported)..most the small one which already compressed to 15-20 gb stutter or cant b played..last i checked the x265/hevc profile is within the specifications..or mybe its the frame rate..🧐🧐 ughh just want to play it without tinkering much..anyway thx for recommendation..himedia q10 pro is it comparable to minix u9 n zidoo x9??all within same price range

Oh yeah.. I forgot that too.. The HiMedia Q10 Pro is comparable and really good stuff too. Make sure to update to the latest firmware if you choose that.. Cuz it included lots of bug fixes and introduced new features.
