I need some help here. My old HiMedia media player is about to KONG. So...was planning to get a new one. Its play my movie files for like 40 minutes and reboot. So...its time. Well...its more then 6 years.
I've been looking at all the review and stuff. But i'm still confuse. Android TV is mainly apps based box ? Do it have media player function as well ? I mean my old HiMedia can use coaxial cable to my amplifier for Dolby Digital, Does Android TV box have those ? My main purpose is to play movie downloaded from my PC to my TV and sound system. Hope someone can give me a good idea on what to get. |

QUOTE(futra @ Sep 8 2017, 09:20 AM) Recently I got a chance to use a MXQ Pro+. Was happy initially but soon realized a shortcoming. Poor wifi signal/connection ! I open up the box and compare it to the ones I found in the net. The one which I have does not even have an internal wifi antenna, so I can't even relocate the antenna further away. Nobody has yet complained about MXQ pro poor wifi signal. But a similar box M8S has been reported in the internet for having poor wifi signal. But this square box above looks like also similar OEM product. This post has been edited by puchongite: Sep 8 2017, 09:36 AM |

Do you need to connect to a far away router ? If yes, then you might need to rethink about these boxes. This post has been edited by puchongite: Sep 8 2017, 10:19 AM |

Cuz high chances are, the questions have already been answered. Obviously, when connected to LAN via cable, everything is better.. As wifi networks are prone to interference. Start with page one and use the search feature. It's there for a reason.By the way if i connect the android box to a LAN cable then will it be better ?(Model x96 & MXQ pro+) how about H96Pro plus ? If the router and the tv box are too far away, then you can consider using wifi repeater or power line ethernet. All these will add costs. I managed to use my own android phone as a wifi repeater for my tv box, since I have already purchased the box. My android phone which is only 5 feet away from the TV box is able to receive the far away wifi router with good signal, while the tv box cannot ! Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of "just enough" boxes and so can't point you to a particular model. Currently using a Minix Neo U1, if you can stretch your budget, get the Minix Neo U9-H instead.there are so many on the market and its really confusing.. |

However, the main different will be the firmware support. The price different is 2 times between that 2. If you don't have high expectation on the TV box and can't stretch your budget, then H96 pro + will be good enough, 4K videos will not be an issue but there could be limitation on HD audio.there are so many on the market and its really confusing.. |
