After reading all the content (especially page 1), I've decided my requirement is simple and went for the Docooler M9S Pro 3/32G box

Received it and it's working fine so far. Haven't done much. Just streaming and watched some series from thumb drive

Here's where I bought bought it from - https://www.lazada.com.my/docooler-m9s-pro-...ails.0.0.THQ5oJ

Cheers and thanks for all the content sharing

Same box as mine. rclxms.gif
Please try if Kodi 17 works well with yours because it doesn't and keep crashing my Kodi after few times of re-installation, now I went back to Jarvis 16.1 and works well...

Thanks, yes i will head over to the TV threads to get some leads on it.Don't want to drift too far into it here.

off the top of my head:

Max 3500 ish
Samsung/LG ?
55
FHD (dont really need 4k right now)
Non HDR should be fine i guess.
Manufacturers warranty.

get the 4k model...

some different rm300 compare to fhd model.

but some 4k model u get 1 more hdmi port, better response rate, and upscaler (maybe)

worth to pay the extra.

imo, fhd best until 43". more than that get 4k model.

maybe u can update page 1, the complaint here:
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=85523370

but M9S Pro is kinda old already.

Tips for Newcomers:
You can browse thru lazada and shortlist those model with amlogic S905X chipset 2G/16G and above config. Just bear in mind, avoid rockchip chipset (RK3XXX)

I browsed thru lazada just now a while...seems like they flood with many 1G/8G tv box, make newcomers hard to choose.

i think these 2 sellers not bad. but remember printscreen the product page if you purchase from lazada because scare the seller send the wrong model for you so you can argue with lazada later and get refund.

the other problems were people complaining the memory amount is fake...I dunno how true so pg 1 has a buyers beware...

fake memory could be true, not the first time happen on tv box, used to be happen on 2g/8g box.

but memory chip now in shortage, i doubt the 2g/16g box price at rm120 range. you see our pc ram and ssd price hike so crazy then i guess the accuse most probably legit.

i think true 2g/16g S905X box is priced in RM170 to RM240 range.

Are you going to recommend air mouse / wireless keyboard / touchpad in page 1 as well? I think this could help newcomers.

Yup...

Wrt...air mouse or wireless keyboard...already mentioned they will need one... just not the brand. People speak highly of the Minix A2/3/something... I got no experience with air mouse

You can write a few words and I'll pin it to pg 1.

Honestly, I'm using one since Dec and no issue. Mine is the 3GB RAM and 32GB version, not sure if that matters.
Nothing is faulty and my only complaint is the buggy Kodi but that's fixed by reverting back to Jarvis. Everything works flawlessly now.
Which seller did you get from? I got from Lazada and the seller is TOMTOP.
