My Himedia I use SPMC... Jarvis trips randomly...

My Vensmile I use Krypton... rock solid no issue...

So far the "next generation" of boxes using cheap SoC ie RK3399, has been terrible...a lot of codec n compatibility problems...

Yes. These re-branded boxes are not good with Krypton. I just hope Jarvis can be used for few years... Else, I gotta try SPMC...
*
As a local media playback device, sure Jarvis can be used for years. Only one loses out on the major improvements that come with future releases, especially those that affect online streaming. You should try SPMC. IMO, it's what Jarvis on Android was supposed to be..

I've been using SPMC on my older box, so far its better than Kodi.
i also tried FTMC, but still SPMC seems better than both.
*
I agree.. Same on my device.

Rockchip and Kodi are very incompatible at the moment.. So yeah, I wouldn't touch a RK equipped device for Kodi as the primary usage.

I believed the player you used does not support the audio format. Try open with KODI.

Try Showbox...Haven't used em in awhile. Should still be reliable..

I have Showbox on my box right now but I havent updated it to the latest version. I did it before and and it became shit and full of ads..so I rolled it back and use the earlier version I have. But now, it seems that all the source for the movies are through torrents instead of servers..i want to stream the movies, not download it.

Got this from Sg group, apparently has 239 channels with 300 days access. It's like a lottery some boxes may work. Once it's installed go setting under player select mx player. Once done reboot the box and try if u are Lucky

Tested the app.. For starters, it requires a lot of permissions, so that got me concerned.. But eh.. Go on.. After installing, it immediately hijacked the home button, wanting to act as the launcher.. Decline!... So launched the app, switched to MX Player and rebooted the device. Upon reboot, launched the app again. Here are my findings;
*Decent selection of channels and VOD..
*Ability to choose English as the main language and its really English.. smile.gif
*Tried VOD.. Went in and couldn't get out using the back button like normal.. Tried a few selections, didn't play.. Quit and relaunch.
*Tried 6 channels, all played but freeze less than 30 seconds later. Doesn't matter how many times I tried again or switching between HW/HW+/SW decoding in MX Player.. Same result.
*Switched to default player, rebooted. Even worse, only one channel played, but stopped less than 5 seconds in. After that.. all refused to play, even the one that played initially.

Final verdict: Didn't work on the Minix Neo U1 and even if it did.. Posed too much of a security risk.. Other safer options available.. Uninstalled! biggrin.gif

8-12 hrs a day...you're better off with a TV...seriously... laugh.gif

Cheaper projectors doesn't have the contrast and brightness for HDR comparable from 4K TV...the technology moves a bit differently and slowly due to different constraints...

Projector is for a totally different, immersive experience...4K TV is for counting pimples and hair follicles... biggrin.gif

Came back from a dinner at a restaurant to celebrate my wife's church 30th anniversary. Got a question for our projection sifu.

In the big hall, they have this big screen. Even in the brightly lit hall, the screen was very clear. It is not like the cinema with projection from opposite end of the screen. I could not find any projector near the screen. Wondering what type of projection are they using.

Can it be projection from behind of the screen?

This setup may be an overkill for home use, but curious to know more.

thanks.
