If not mistaken certain plan can have cashless claim in singapore. From Allianz and AIA (need AIA and Allianz agent to clarify). Normally, overseas treatment expenses claims is on reimbursement basis and it must be 90 days from the date of departure to overseas
What is meant by cashless claim?

So if I don't have the cash with me, I can't get treatment in Singapore? hmm.....

You will have to pay first and file a claim basis, if you don't have cash then you got to swipe your credit card first, if cash and credit card also don't have then can't get treatment.

I just saw this online product on the Prudential website, PRUdirect Term.

Is this guaranteed to be renewable every year?

Is it guaranteed that the premium amount is fixed for the tenure of the policy?

This is based on what I understand from the website as I can't seem to find any reviews on this.

I'm considering to increase my life coverage as this looks like an affordable plan as compared to topping up my existing investment link plan.

I only need to fork out an additional RM34 a month as compared to RM80-RM100 for the same amount of coverage as quoted by my existing agent.

Yeap term insurance is cheap when you're young but will be increasingly expensive as you grow older.

You just have to keep in mind that some term insurance doesn't cover whole life e.g until age 100. Term insurance probably can renew until age 80.

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, I understand generally term insurance is cheap when you're young and increases as you grow older. Which is why I was asking if anyone can comment on this specific product PRUdirect. Based on the website it looks like the rate is fixed throughout the tenure. E.g. if I take 20 years, it will be fixed for that 20 years. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, understand some term insurance won't cover whole life. My objective is to ensure that I'll be able to sustain my kids expenses until they're independent if I'm gone. So a coverage of 20-30 years would be sufficient for now I guess.

For AIA, there is a product name called A-Life ProtectTerm which runs similarly like what you explained, if you choose 20 years coverage, then the premium is fixed throughout the 20 year period.

Probably you'll have to wait for someone from that company to reply you or you can call the company direct line to ask.

cashless claim is whereby the claim is done directly between hospitals and insurance companies. basically if it is not a cashless claim, u have to pay for treatment and claim back from insurance company after everything.

Sorry if this is not the appropriate forum for discussing car insurance.

I am selling off my car & intend to terminate the comprehensive insurance curently with NCB 55% entitlement. My insurance told me that I am entitled to some refund for the unused period. However I have to cancel my roadtax & show proof to them!

Sounds weird to me as cancellation of insurance has nothing to do with roadtax, right? I intend to let the new buyer continuing using the existing roadtax but with his new insurance.

Pls advise. Thank you!

The road tax will be cancelled once you sell ur car away once JPJ process the batal hak milik. Thereafter you can request for your refund of your car insurance premium.

OIC. Meaning the new owner has to apply/buy for a new roadtax. What document are needed to cancel my insurance? I only intend to buy a new car in a few months & I was told the NCB of 55% is valid for 1-year after cancellation of insurance. Will they issue a letter to confirm my 55% NCB, or is it this info is in the online system?

Thanks!

I don't really sell car insurance and might not know all the procedure involved so it'll be best to check with your current car insurance company on this procedure by calling their hotline.

As my understanding medical card that buy locally cannot swipe on oversea, mean you pay first and come back claim later.
Some company do stated that more than 90 days oversea can't claim.

So can only swipe in Malaysia only

In 1 year if claim exceed 160k, I have to pay the diff and claim back later.

Prud

If lifetime exceed you pay 20%

If any agents want to PM me, tell me the package directly like how I describe above. Thanks ya notworthy.gif thumbup.gif

nope. the extended 1.6m is on reimbursement basis. already double check with product manager. need to dig back the cover letter note sent out by them.
