Hi every Sifus,

My current policy from GE and following are the details
AL 90k
LL 720k
TPD 50k
36 CI 20k
Co-Insurance 10%
CI 20k
R&B 150
Investment Link

My question is, is that advisable to upgrade from current policy or get new policy?

1. If I take back GE.
2. If I take AIA, what about my old policy?

Thank you so much!

sadly the agent has gone MIA for more than 10 years for mis-selling...

Walk into the insurance branch or HQ and they will sort it out for you if you can't get through their line.

You can check with the current insurance company for any available upgrade. If your policy was bought for sometimes ago then it's good time to do a review of the existing policy coverage overall.

Can't just analyse based on the above without knowing what you want to achieve in your financial goals.

Basically what lifebalance meant is that the sum assured for every individual is different. Base on the information provided, your life at least seems to be the most concern for you.

As for medical card, just saying you have a medical card doesn't give us a lot of information as there are so many out there with different benefits.

Perhaps it's in your best interest to sit down with a professional and go through your portfolio 🤓

Best,
Jiansheng

my most concern is critical illness.
i dont actually care if after i dead. i bought dead+CI is because i cannot just buy CI insurance, also as far as i know, life insurance for dead is not expensive, the expensive one is CI.

i have 2 medical cards
personal one is malaysia, limit 200k/year (10k excess), lifetime limit 750k
company one is no limit, private hospitalization (provided by oversea country)

It's more proper to meet with a life planner to plan this out with you, no one planner can do this via online just like this.

As for medical card, the benefit nowadays are easily available with RM1 mil annual limit minimum. so probably you can consider to upgrade the existing personal insurance as well since it's only up to 200k yearly only.

A very brief answer would be that Great Medic Xtra is a standalone medical card, where there is no cash value and death benefit. The SmartMedic Xtra is a medical rider for the investment linked plan. There are pros and cons for going for standalone or investment linked.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

I'm going to work in Singapore soon.

im currently on one of the investment-linked insurance plan. Will I still be covered for hospitals in Singapore?

According to my agent, I can still claim for oversea medical expenses as long as it is within 90 days. Is it true?
*
If not mistaken certain plan can have cashless claim in singapore. From Allianz and AIA (need AIA and Allianz agent to clarify). Normally, overseas treatment expenses claims is on reimbursement basis and it must be 90 days from the date of departure to overseas

If u take back GE then yes you can upgrade. if get new policy, of course most advisable is pay for both (remove just the old medical card rider). Else, just continue with the latest one and the old one surrender after 1 year of new policy inception.

Most importantly is, after having the plans stated, do you think that it can help you and your family when you need it? All insurance plans are ok but it serve people's needs differently.

Great Medic Xtra = latest standalone medical plan
Smart Medic Xtra = latest medical card rider attached to investment linked plans

Yes, this is covered under AIA's Medical Plan 500 for Singapore & Malaysia.

AIA offers Critical Illness under Term Policy as well.
