If have to drive to a station, 10-15 minutes to drive and get parking is about the best one can hope for already.

we can talk here, debate here, calling each other names and whats not, end of the day, your experience speak louder than everyone elses.
just buy si beh far place without public transport and with toll gate right in front of your township and live your life there for 6 months to 1 year then reassess the situation.
words of advice - you better have plan B and can afford to have plan B.

Foreigners don't mean only east Asians. There are plenty of west Asians, south Asians, SEA and others than don't necessary look at KL and Penang.
