Mid of Dec, stock for 5600x and 5900x still yet to be found. Guess I’ll wait till 2021.
*
5950x and 5800x can be found at some smaller reseller (definitely not at Lyp). u just got to do the homework and search them out.
5950 at scalper price + bundled with mobo , 5800 bundled with mobo (normal price) depending on which reseller u buy.

I've not seen it go below 3.7 GHz even on idle

This silly Zen3 is def not as power efficient as Intel Speedstep whatsoever

Idle and light loads definitely not as efficient as intel

Another poor victim of Bsod at Bios default settings who has lost his nerves in OCN vmad.gif :
Hardware 5950x & Asus Dark Hero

QUOTE
What do you mean? I had a Asus x570 Dark Loser & 5950x, it crashes, hard rebooted, BSOD all the time. I changed: PSU, ddr4 (4 diff kits) graphic card, unplugged all usb, changed settings to more volt, less volt, set the ddr4 timeings. NOTHING stopped the crashes, hard rebooted, BSOD.

So now you say i cant give the advice to send the AMD garbage back? We are suppose to sit here like idiots and wait for a bios update for months to fix this trash?
Ye...sure. Spend €1500 on a motherboard and a cpu and then get alot of problems, and the solution is to "sit and wait for a few months for a bios fix that MIGHT fix your problems".

So yes, my advice to anyone who own a grabage AMD 5000 serie system with crashes, hard rebooted, BSOD, is to send it back ASAP and get your money back. And then just wait for a new Intel launch.

Since AMD is grabage, IN MY OPINION.

But targon & llk I think we lucky to get this on retail price but in return need buy with mobo at least 5900x RM500 increase price was ridiculous now........
*
I don't think u know what is going on with ryzen 9 5xxx currently ...... It's better to avoid it for the time being
It's of no use if the chip obtained earlier at msrp is unstable.
Amd is very very very quiet on this ......

Updated tally from OCN , of importance is mobo and cpu type (%) who hit BSOD
The votes will be even higher if there's sufficient stock and ppl can easily buy them worldwide

I'm just pissed that they lied about the whole 2000mhz 1:1 IF support. Absolute bullshit lol. Good luck even POSTing beyond DDR4 3800mhz much less to say want to attempt 1:1 IF.
*
That's pure silicon luck if able to achieve 3800 at all

Uninstall all Gigabyte software. They could cause stability issues.

Bsod is not caused by giga apps. It's the cpu at idle state or sudden boosted up.

B450 "officially" works with ryzen 3000 series too.. which it doesnt. Occasionally BSOD and glitches related to PCI-E. Switched to B550. problems gone away

and the B450? Put on a ryzen 2000 and it works flawlessly. whistling.gif

Good luck if you think it's a 100% flawless compatibility.
*
By ur reasoning, we do need a specialized chipset just for 5000 series just for trouble free compatibility.

And there's ppl out there hoping to put in a 5000 cpu into b450.
They're just courting more trouble and Bsod.

I can tell you that there's a number of first batch of 5950x not stable when boot with official bios, send rma and product still waiting till now to return. And I'm one of the buyer who is still awaiting the RMA.
*
What abt subsequent batches ? That doesn't mean it will b fixed. There's a whole bunch of ppl with random bsod issue with ryzen 9 (refer OCN forums).
It's not just 5950x, 5900x included. These 2 with most affected by random bsod.
U re better off request for a refund instead of RMA. we are really playing silicon lottery here with ryzen 9.

Ppl shld learn to ignore AMD at that insane price.
There's intel around at less than 2k for 10900k. Some shops offer combo with mobo at attractive price.

Those aiming for 5900/5950 shld be aware that it's plagued by high chances of Bsod at bios defaults (bad/poor silicon). The best solution is to RMA it until u got back a good chip that works. i bet AMD will never admit this, buried under the carpet.

10900K is getting cheaper now, mile better than getting the stupid over price 5600X

Been telling ppl on that. Some don't open their ears.
You can get 10900k & Z490 aorus master for 3.5K It's a beautiful board at that. much better than x570 master.
(Repeat) It's not a hot cpu for normal gaming & paired with 3080/3090. U don't need catastrophic cooling. AIO 240/360 will do the job.

Plus side: you do not have to endure potential Bsod unlike with Ryzens 5xxx

Am using ryzens only for my secondary rig.
Not point in dumping money in a flagship cpu that can bsod at it's own will and temper.

Btw, the failure rate for ryzen 9 5000 series is still going up. Defective/ poor silicon that can cause bsod.

Genuine question. My 3700x under Noctua DH-15, idle at 40-45'c. Whats your cometlake temp now? Want to know more as my last intel was 6700 series.
Take note on that if I somehow managed to find.
*
Comet lake idle 30-40 c . It's not going to reach 80 c on normal gaming session. And I am not on ac room. That's the big misconception ppl have. Maybe after seeing those dubious reviews by reviewers. When RKL comes out, they will b doing the same thing again.

10700k here is Rm1699

ROG STRIX Z490-F GAMING - 1240
ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING - 1635

The cooler I booked is nzxt z73. I only have corsair RM750 psu.

Still dilemma.
1) 5600x & dark hero = Rm3459
2) 10700k + z490E/F =Rm2939/ Rm3334
3) 10900k + z490 E/F = Rm3339 / Rm3734 (750W is concern?)
*
If u care to do some homework online, 10900k & aorus master is at a very nice price.

Giga's working on 1.1.9.0
They re several steps behind asus/ MSI when it comes to bioses. When it's ready, u will find them first on tweaktown forums giga support section.

statiscally seems 5950x the most
5900/5800 not many users
5600x users 50:50

so got be humble x 3 . zen 3.

Yeah, guys got back a new silicon replacement all working fine after RMA.
So AMD really shit out on the silicon. This they will NEVER admit in public.

the problem is .. y does bsod exist in 2020

intel cpu if u bsod on stock. 99% chance is mobo bad (not bios) meaning mobo qc..

*
This i tend to agree. I have previously a 5930k with a Rampage V Ex. that bsod at stock. Both are newly bought.
I bought another RVE just to see if it's mobo. And true enough, it's stable without random bsod with the 2nd mobo.
