I'm using multisim, and since Maxis stopped 3G in its network, I have been having terrible experience.
I use my iPhone for Zoom/Microsoft Teams video conference, but every time there's an incoming call, the video conference on Zoom/MTeams would get disconnected as the incoming call makes my phone switch to 2G network. This is so disruptive, as every time I get disconnected, I need to wait for the host of Zoom/MTeams to allow me to rejoin. You can imagine how irritated the host gets if my connection gets disconnected too many times. I have called Maxis CS and followed the suggestion here on the forum and asked to talk to people at Network Department. But I still have no luck getting them to enable VoLTE for my line, due to multisim. Maxis just told me that in order to have VoLTE for my line, I need to give up multisim for my line. But Maxis also has stopped offering multisim, so I can't subscribe to another line and apply the multisim to the new line. Do you guys have any better ideas e.g. where I get to have VoLTE for my existing line and also have sims (I need two) for iPads? Do other providers (Digi, UMobile, etc) have a solution for my situation? Thanks! |

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I tried talking to someone at Maxis Network Dept again yesterday evening. Although he said he would do the necessary to enable VoLTE for my line, I’m still not seeing that working for me — the moment calls are received/made, my phone would switch from 4G to E/GPRS. Perhaps, the guy at Maxis is not doing it properly or maybe they have put a ‘block’ in the system to people with multisim asking for VoLTE nowadays. By now, I have given up calling Maxis CS. Seems porting out to Digi is the best thing to do in my situation. Update (13/1/2022): I reported in another thread that lately I've been having issues accessing some websites with only IPv4 addresses. Out of the blue, an engineer(?) from Maxis called me to inform that he has nailed down the issue and he really managed to solve it for me. And for being so patient with Maxis, he offered to turn on VoLTE for me since he noticed that I use an eligible phone, even though I'm a multisim user. All in all, I'm glad that my issues have been satisfactorily resolved. This post has been edited by ansonlos: Jan 13 2022, 05:42 PM rivacordex and p4n6 liked this post

Hello everyone, looking to change my Android phone to a VOLTE phone but seems like not many VOLTE Android phones are ACTUALLY supported by MAXIS. The website list seems to be exaggerated (wanted to get a Sony 5 iii but in another thread, someone said MAXIS doesn't support) Can reco me an android phone? Xiao Mi, Samsung, SONY (no vivo, real me or hua wei)

QUOTE(p4n6 @ Feb 9 2022, 05:43 PM) Maybe you list out your choice and see which one support and don't ... you said want xiaomi samsung and sony but you only say you want Xperia 5iii. Sorry sorry...i wasn't clear in my description. I wanted to change from MiA3 to xperia 5 iii. So i went research in other thread about the phone and found out that the phone is good but maxis volte dun support it. I'm on Maxis. Then when i researched further regarding maxis volte, came across this thread, only to know that maxis volte quite sucky. So since there's a Maxis Volte thread, m asking if those who are able to use Maxis Volte with their phones are using what phone. Coz the maxis website device listed obviously not correct since user said xperia 5 iii cannot ise maxis volte. I think i saw that in their website says support. I only want to use android. I come from stock android background. So asking everyone here can suggest or let me know the phones they are using. Asus zenfone 8 is good suggestion but others warn about battery life. Thank you in advance |

I have Note10+ and S21. Also using iPhone.
All no issues. Also u need to check how old is the information about Xperia 5iii not able to use VoLTE in Maxis as I saw their list keep updating. So at the time of post was written maybe true but if after the list was updated after then the information will not be updated. You can try to msg the person who post it to ask about it. If not mistaken, Xperia 1ii in their list not updated initially (saw some complaint about it in this thread) ... then months after saw it listed. Suggest to go with all the prominent Android smartphone brands like Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and Xiaomi ... and I assume those models that sold on Maxis website should have VoLTE, guess they won't be so screwed up to sell non- Maxis VoLTE smartphone in their own store. Also point to note Maxis recently launched VoWiFi and the list also on their website ... and the list is way shorter than their VoLTE one ... so if you want both features .. you should aim for those appear in both of their list ... QUOTE(haturaya @ Apr 6 2022, 12:19 PM) Automatically enabled in phone setting. Never need to call Maxis too. I'm using Zenfone 8 lol. I had enabled VoLTE and VoWiFi in the settings. But I did not get any hint that it is enabled, on the status bar. Maybe because Zenfone 8 is one of eligible / officially supported VoLTE phone, as stated in Maxis list. |

Maybe the status icon is disabled in the setting. Find Status bar icon manager from Settings and enable it from there. My phone on VoWiFi at the moment.
