Got 840mbps from a public toilet in Seoul, through wifi. Lelz. A public toilet's wifi is faster than the entire nation of Msia's broadband.

As for 4G, it's also only 30mbps+/-.

Let me try when I go there. I will be staying at my friend's house in Gangnam. I'm very sure she has fibre connection in her house. I wanna try. icon_idea.gif
When I was in Japan, I stayed at my friends' house in Tokyo and Kobe, Tokyo one is 100Mbps only because she was a student there while the one in Kobe is a working adult and she subscribes to 300Mbps.
Suddenly I feel mine is not too bad considering I'm in Malaysia...

I'm not that old yet. Dial-up days were during my primary and high school days. laugh.gif
Anyway, when I went to Japan and the speed of ttheir 4G was just 30Mbps+, I was expecting more than that. I tried with Docomo telco. I went to China few times,  LTE speed was way faster. I'm going to S. Korea this May, let's see.

For me, I just want to go back home after working and enjoying my entertainment. I'm no longer a leecher these days, just a heavy streamer. I don't live in high rise, that's why UniFi is my best choice for now.

In Japan, Softbank have decent speed. They are quickly rolling out TDD spectrum and some places they have launched pre 5G solutions which boast your speed much higher. You got to take into account of the congestion. This is pretty subjective.
In China, unicom i was getting in average say around 30-40Mbps (on CAT 6 phone).
Of course mobile network nowadays giving speed above what we getting in fixed line in Malaysia. (talking about sub 30mbps). Which is sad, considering fixed line have more controlled interference compared to wireless.

TM guarantee local content 100mbps but international bandwith doesnt go 100mbps only 40% for that speed  .. that why we need more than 100mbps

why tm dont give us 100mbps international gateway ..why cap speed for international website ..
*
that's why la I would rather see TM lower their price for all package first...people frustrated with the price...the speed can be consider ok....local have nothing laaa....only good for streaming video iflix, netflix malaysia, astro on the go and youtube.

International connection have to pay one ah, you think it's free? We're a net consumer country, so Telekom pays crazy amounts for bandwidth out (more than SG does, as connection hub is through there).

tl;dr don't hope for SG price/bandwidth ratio here in the next decade or more. And if I have to choose, I rather price cut than get 50/100 mbps. Except for video I really think there's no point so fast.

international bandwidth to servers based in US, a lot of it is routed through SG because of bandwidth constraints at the Mersing side.

to Europe you might get better bandwidth.

Recommended speed for 4K streaming is 25mbps. I guess if you're in 30mbps, shouldn't be an issue unless you have multiple devices streaming HD video at the same time.
*
12 - 15 devices can stream in HD with multiple devices for 50Mbps?

Of course not all those connected devices streaming HD at the same time.
Realistically I would say apart of streaming 4K via the tv, probably 6-8 others watching YouTube probably in HD while others probably surfing the internet.

So far I have no buffering issue with the current 50mbps speed. I cannot comment what would happen if all these connected devices streaming HD simultaneously hmm.gif

Is worth it for you to get 50Mbps if 10-15 ppl can access the Internet same time without any buffering issue etc you tube or online movies.

Even some places in Damansara (around tropicana), they are still on 1Mb streamyx!!!! crazy, ya at this age.

During the early days, we use to have the largest digital network in the world! When US was still using beeper (pager) and roaming analogs

My house will be renovated for 4 months.. and I wanted to relocate my unifi.. Is there any charge for relocation? My friend relocate his unifi without any charge before but I saw in many website stated we need to pay rm300 for relocation.. So confuse now.. Or is TM give us option to suspend our unifi services for 4 months and then continue it again?
