Is a AP set, seller does not want to bear the responsibility and claimed that the phone is a non removable type, cannot be opened (they only know how to sell, don't even know the tech).
Since just few dollars for the battery, nvm.
Yes, no idea where selling RmN3 spare parts in Malaysia here while shops offer RM150+++ for the battery replacement notworthy.gif

Anybody got their touchscreen part replaced or fixed?

I dropped my rn3 on the toilet and touchscreen doesn't work anymore.

I already dried it out for a couple of days and also replaced the battery. Its turning on fine, but cannot use it.

Service center might be costly.

I also bought a RN4 since I needed a phone hehe

Maybe water damaged the LCD or digitizer.
I have changed the front screen set with digitizer and body frame once myself due to cracked screen. Overall the process is quite simple to DIY compare with other water resistance phones which come with a lot of adhesive in the phone.

Performance and battery seems to be the same as RN3.
Build quality is better.

Screen already has scratches lol.

nah..don't want to reinstall all my stuffs. Too tedious. I am not those who are so pressed on upgrade to latest firmware. As long as phone have no problem, it is not so important to upgrade minor versions.

That's why I was laughing at those people who keep on shouting and scolding in xiaomi forum about the marshmallow upgrade. Then when they eventually release the upgrade next they complain is battery drain and firmware problem and so on.
*
Yup, latest update doesn't matter as long as the phone is stable enough for normal operation. But the first few release of Marshmallow Stable Rom has some memory management issues, e.g: using only Facebook and when try to jump back to laucher(home) there goes "Loading Apps..". The memory management issue very noticeable when using Stable & Developer Rom. Maybe only affects 2gb ram version. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Want to ask, when I try to check for update on Note 3 Snapdragon 32GB, it shows no updates available for MIUI 8.1.1.0 but in MIUI ROM website shows the latest is V8.1.6.0.MHOMIDI (MIUI8).

I downloaded the full ROM from MIUI, successfully applied the update (V8.1.6.0.MHOMIDI) using Updater and now using the latest version without any problem.
Just wondering why it shows 'no updates available' when I was at version 8.1.1.0 despite that is not the latest version?

They update by batch and also sometimes you may never get it and straight to next update.

I had some problem like that too. Once the phone won't ring or give audio notification after changing from silent mode. And stored videos cannot be played. After restart phone then everything is fine again.

You don't need unlock bootloader to update V8.1.6.0.MHOMIDI.
Download the Redmi Note 3 full ROM using your phone's browser or PC, then launch Update app from your phone and select 'choose update package' and locate the .zip file. Confirm the update and wait it to complete.

Did you set the GPS to high accuracy? Hold the GPS button above> high accuracy.

Hope other forumer can give some light on this issue. My SD unit doesnt have GPS locking problem unless I am in a high rise building or a mall. I know MTK SoC does have issue with GPS.
