1. Annual Income: RM75K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferred, but with minimum spend/swipe waiver is OK

3. Card required for: Dining, General spend (groceries, lazada etc), cashback. No car, so I don't need/benefit from petrol spend/cashback

4. Existing credit cards: Maybank 2 Cards platinum, Maybank FCB, Citi Cash Back platinum (last is terrible, dunno how they calculating cashback sleep.gif)

5. Interested in CC from: Any bank

6. Others: More interested in cashback because I spend close to 3K monthly (usually pay for makan with friends). Used to rely on Maybank FCB but just saw the changes to the cashback rate (sad). Tried the Citi card last few months but despite reaching the minimum spend the CB doesn't seem to come in. Friend recommended the CIMB Cash Rebate platinum card but the cashback is so low. Most of the cards seem to segment the cashback into categories, but I don't benefit from petrol so that's wasted on me.

Get PBB Visa Signature (6% for dining, groceries and online, capped ar rm38 per cycle)

Get HLB wise card for weekend, 8% cashback on petrol, dining and groceries. Weekdays 1% if total bill for the month >rm500. Each category cap at rm18 cashback, spending about rm225 per category.

Keep your citibank cashback card. Spend rm100 each for grab, dining, groceries ane petrol and get rm10 cashback for each category. Must spend above rm500. Check the eligibility of what u spent.

Since your monthly spending around rm3k, this will get you around rm104 cashback (no petrol, assuming top up grabpay to pay for some dining expenses). Remaining spend using your MBB FCB and get 1%.

If petrol, grocery, dining, can try Citibank cash back credit card, RM 10 for each category but your statement amount must be > RM 500. For PTPTN cash back, you can use boost to pay, can use those with online transaction cash back credit card to top up boost.

Public Quantum Master is good enough to reload into e-wallet, 5% cash back. For flight benefit, you mean air miles? If yes, you can try Maybank 2 Cards.

Point collection? I think the best point to collect is Treat point (Maybank 2 Cards)

FCB VS will still be one of the best CC after other CC issuers cut the reward/benefits/rebate due to Payment Card Reform Framework (due on 1/1/2021).

Affin Visa Signature >> https://www.affinonline.com/tap_for_cash_back

3% cash back on all contactless transactions (excluding government services and charity transactions), capped at RM80 per month

wave-then-PIN not eligigible.

if you always do physical retail contactless spending, this is a good alternative card. no good for online transactions.

When interchange fee is 0 48%, not many credit card issuers can give you high rebate already unless a lot of cardholders are paying 15%-18% interest.
