Hi, guys.
Newbie in CC here but it seems the convenient and benefits is something good to have.
Help me.
Below is my info.

1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM60K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: List all your needs. Bills, restaurants, movies, online local and foreign purchase, local and foreign offline purchase, 0% installment plan to purchase furniture and electronics*, flights, hotels,

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil (But actively using PBB Debit and MBB Debit)

5. Interested in CC from: Maybank, but I'm too new to justify. Feel free to recommends others.

6. Others: *Real reason I suddenly thinking to get a CC is to purchase expensive electronics like camera, lens, computers, at 0% installment plan for my freelance work. Paying cash RM10K for a camera body or a Macbook Pro is a bad cash flow in my point of view. But still needed to purchase these items to earn. Other than that, I'll have frequent flight to outside Malaysia. Might as well collect some points with that?
*
i) Maybank 2 Cards
* 5x Treats-Points for every Ringgit spent on Maybankard 2 Amex and 1x Treats Point on MasterCard / Visa Card Maybankard 2 Card.
* 5% Weekend Cashback when spend on Maybank2 Amex, CB capped at RM50 /month.
http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards

ii) SCB Cashback Gold - 2 - 5% CB with min spend $500, NO CB for Petrol, Insurance Transactions.

1. Annual Income: N/A (is deciding between 2 cards below).

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: PTPTN lump sum payment, GSC/TGV cinema via app, online purchases

4. Existing credit cards: MBB Ikhwan Mastercard

5. Interested in CC from: CIMB cash rebate & PBB Quantum

Note:
- Both of the above option has online cashback 5% which i'm interested in
- I don't use petrol.
- Has savings acc in CIMB, not PBB (so probably easier to apply on CIMB)
- Wondering which card is more beneficial overall?
*
PBB Quantum MC & CIMB CR MasterCard Both come with Same 5% Cash Back for Online transactions, capped at RM30 per monthly statement cycle equivalent to RM600 spend.

But however, CIMB CR WON'T earn YOU any Cash back from Flight Ticket Purchase or PTPTN (government related transaction) plus, they Charge Cross Border transaction fees. sweat.gif
Note: Cross Border Fee - charged to a merchant when a customer uses a credit card as payment for purchases or services from an issuing bank not located in the same country as the merchant's processing account.

As for PBB Quantum MC, you can earn CB on PTPTN Payment, buying flight ticket the best part's PBB Doesn't charge any Cross Border Fee like CIMB thumbup.gif

Also, Why not cosinder Apply or Convert to Maybank 2 Cards is more Practical use, Since You are not much Utilized Your MBB Ikhwan MC: Petrol & Groceries

1. Annual Income: RM90K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Other transactions. I already have cc for petrol, groceries, online, dining, departmental store, entertainment which I think are adequate. I prefer cashback but a good reward programme is OK too.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): PBB Quantum, MBB Ikhwan, MBB Ikhwan Petronas

5. Interested in CC from: Open for suggestions.

6. Others: Please be specific. I have applied for MBB Amex Duo but rejected. Probably because I already have two cards with them (Ikhwan).
*
U have rejected on M2C recently, try request Split CL from your Ikhwan by write in an Appeal Letter to Them (mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my) just the Title change to Maybank 2Cards, macam ni...

Hi guys, would like to get a recommendation. Really a noob here.
1. Annual Income: 75k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No

3. Card required for: To spend on petrol & tolls for me and my wife's car, occasional air travel tickets, groceries, utilities bill (so I can get a grace period of 20 days to settle it without any utility cut-off penalties) and maybe to pay for monthly insurance bill. I also frequently buy items from overseas Ebay (in USD, using Maybank debit card and the currency exchange set by Maybank)

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil.

5. Interested in CC from: No idea really, there's so many to choose from. Although I do have an active savings and current account with Maybank (if that helps?)

6. Others: I haven't had any credit card before and my only loan as of now is a hire-purchase loan from Maybank. I don't really like to get in debt, I usually buy all the stuff I need by cash but now I understand that with a line of credit, I can have that 'flexibility' to pay the amount over time and so I plan to utilize some sort of EPP with the card.

Looking forward to read any recommendations.

Thank you!

thanks fly126 for your recommendation! just wondering comparing ambank visa infinite and maybank 2 cards platinum, what's your thought?

AmBank VISA Infinite Card /AmBank World MasterCard (Income Requirement: RM120K p.a)
• Free-For-Life, NO conditions attached
• Unlimited lounge access without condition
• Complimentary Hilton Premium Club Membership Card
(Note: Membership is automatically renewed annually with just a min retail usage of RM30,000)
• Air Miles Frequent Flyer / Travel Reward Programs (Note: 5,000 AmBonus points = 1,000 Air Miles)
http://www.ambank.com.my/eng/cards/visainfinite

the people get This Card becos it's FREE for Life with No AF +Unlimited PPL access from Various location with No condition attached... it's more like a Pure Air-miles CC to the cardholder. As we know most the Air-miles Earning + PPL Access Privileges credit card may come with an Annual Fee like more than $600 a year & with limited Choice of PPL Access https://www.ambank.com.my/ambank/Documents/...stofAirport.pdf

Maybank 2 Cards (Good with PTPTN)
* It's Lifetime Waiver NO Annual Fee on Treats-Point (Basis), with 3 Years Lifespan Period
* 5x Treats-Points for every Ringgit spent on Maybankard 2 Amex and 1x Treats Point on MasterCard / Visa Card Maybankard 2 Card.
* 5% Weekend Cashback when spend on Maybank2 Amex, CB capped at RM50 per customer (including Supp Card member) per month.

Maybank 2 Card is more like a multi-purpose General CC which we can...
Convert the Treats Point for Shopping Voucher or Enrich Air Miles Redemption even though the Treats Point come with (3) Years Expiry Period

You can Accumulate/Earn More Rewards Point even Faster: 1x/ 2x / 5X Treats point + 5% Cash-Back from Weekends Spend with Maybank 2Cards (Amex) for Every RM1 Spent. Do Use the Treats Point on Shopping Voucher Redemption Even Use it for MAS Enrich Air Miles Redemption. (5X Tp = 1.25% CB) or Standard On-Spot Redemption Conversion: 400 TPs = RM1 or 10,000 Treats Points = 1000 Enrich Mile (Effective 1 March 2015). So with RM1 = 5x TP, it works out to RM2 spent = 1 Enrich Mile for the Enrich Miles Conversion

So, Why not get BOTH CARDS... thumbsup.gif
