Any credit card give cashback for FPX transaction?
Some payment only accept FPX, then redirect to bank website, choose account to pay from Credit Card for FPX
*
FPX is more like a Fund Transfer (from a bank account such as CASA, credit card account), not really a credit card payment transaction! You can't use a Visa/MasterCard Debit card to perform a FPX/Jompay transaction.

Card issuers give rebate/reward to credit card transactions only which they earn some fee. BTW the credit card transaction fee will be reduced again on 1/1/2021, so card issuers may reduce their benefits in coming weeks.

i see. ok la, i find myself using ewallet abit more lately, to tapao and buy from kopitiam, so quantum master still useful.

and wave >RM30 for grocery should be easy. i try to plan my spending and exceed RM30 lo.
*
I WhatsApp some merchants request for their merchant QR codes, so I can now make payments at home, without wasting time and fuel to swipe my credit/debit card and avoid face-to-face with the merchants.

1. Annual Income: 48K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes compulsory waiver

3. Card required for: Cashback (petrol, dining, groceries, online Shopee and TNG top up),utilities. Especially TNG and Shopee top up because I feel that my current cards don’t give anything for those.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Citibank Cash Back, Maybank 2 Gold, Maybank Barcelona

5. Interested in CC from: I am looking to cancel one or 2 of my cards to apply for the PB Quantum Visa and Mastercard. Especially since the Maybank Barcelona has been nerfed, right after I got it ☹ Is it compulsory to take both PB Quantum Visa and Mastercard like the Maybank 2 Gold? Or can I get either one or the other?

6. Others:

I'm open to all suggestions!
1) Please help to advise what is the best balance to max out credit cards cashback with my current situation.
2) Want to clarify, for PB quantum Mastercard, it says 5% for all online shopping. Does TNG ewallet and Lazada ewallet count? From what I read here, besides gov or auto debit, what are the restrictions?
3) What is the definition of auto debit? I saw someone mentioned that Netflix isn’t included. So anything that is charged monthly automatically isn’t included? As long as I manually pay every month, should be okay right?
4) I saw someone recommending to use the Maybank Amex for Unifi bill. I thought I read somewhere that Maybank has excluded all utilities from cashback for their credit cards? Are Unifi and Maxis broadband eligible for Maybank Amex Cashback?

Thank you in advance!
*
4) try Shopee Bill Payment - Unifi. Pay via Shopee.

Ah ya I saw that too. Thanks grumpy.

I'll do the weightage between PB visa sig vs HLB Wise.

Wise is good though i don't use petrol since I have AFB Bhpetrol.
*
Look beyond credit card....

Can consider e-wallet... Boost, Grabpay, TNG Wallet, Gopayz Unionpay (eg spend RM30 to get RM5), ShopeePay (eg spend RM15 to get RM3), Zapp, Razerpay, Sarawak Pay, Fave/Favepay, Maybank QRPay/MAE, Duitnow QR from your savings account... tongue.gif Frankly speaking, I never use PB QV, HLB Wise, Maybank M2 Amex this month as payment by ewallet / QR can give me >5% savings.

Hello sifus, I'm considering to apply for my first CC. Appreciate if you could shed some light  biggrin.gif

1. Annual Income: RM 40K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes or auto waived

3. Card required for: Cashback, Mainly will be paying for Petrol, Phone bills, Spotify, PTPTN, Robo-investment, e-Wallet reloads, Utilities, and occasional dine in. (Total around RM1K - RM1.5K)

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil.

5. Interested in CC from: Citibank - Simplicity | HSBC | Public Bank - Quantum | Open for suggestions

6. Others: Preferably trying to maximize the benefits I could get. No point going for rewards card as chances of hitting target will be quite slim based on my usage. Decent sign up bonus would be an added advantage. Recently applied for Maybank 2 Gold online and got rejected without providing justifications on rejection and got frozen for 3 months, so Maybank is out of the option.
*
If you like Maybank CC, NEVER NEVER use Maybank2u online application. The automated Artificial Intelligence robot is too smart and too strict, apply at Maybank card centre (The Gardens / 1U) or branch, humans are more helpful and lenient.

Just to reconfirm... >RM240k is your personal and direct income in Malaysia, ie you will file Form B/BE 2020 by 30 April 2021 or 30 June 2021.

Yes, back to working in Malaysia. Yup, I will file income tax in 2021. Right now my proof of income is offer letter, a few payslips, and 2 months of maybank statements.
*
Haha, for high income group, there are 2 types of people, high flyers chasing for airmiles and spending a lot on travelling and fine-dining -> all kind of Visa Infinite CC including Maybank Premier CC / Visa Infinite (Note: Annual fee RM800, waived only if annual spend >RM80000);

Some people just like to earn cashback then you may end up having a lot of cashback credit cards (normally monthly cashback is capped at RM30/RM50/RM80, not unlimited) -> Maybank FC Barcelona Visa Signature (1% cashback for general use excluding Government, charities, e-wallets and utilites) or Maybank M2 Visa+Amex Platinum (if you aim for cashback, get Platinum instead of Premier).

Since you are banking with Maybank, apply your first CC at Maybank Card Centre (1Utama / The Gardens) or branch, don't use M2U Online Application or third-party referral service.

https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...ds_listing.page

There are some good cashback cards,
(1) Public Bank Visa Signature (online, groceries, dining and 2x free access to Plaza Premium Lounge) (you may add Quantum Visa and Quantum Mastercard as well - for online / paywave transactions)
www.pbebank.com
(2) Visa Duo Visa+Mastercard (Visa for Online / Direct Debit transactions)
www.affinbank.com.my
(3) RHB Visa Signature (online, entertainment, club, shopping and 5x free access to PPL)
www.rhbgroup.com
(4) Hong Leong Bank Essential, Wise etc.
www.hlb.com.my
(5) Standard Chartered Just-one Platinum, Liverpool Mastercard
sc.com/my

Also you may consider using e-wallets as well, the savings can be more than credit card rewards/rebate. Good for small amount transactions.

Maybank FC Barcelona Visa Signature - do u get cashback for insurance installments?
*
Insurance (annual / monthly) payment - Yes.

I don't understand what you mean "instalments", if charged by the insurance company periodically (eg monthly) - then Yes.

If Maybank instalments, please check at Maybank FC Barcelona Thread.

Hi..

can recommend which credit card has highest/longest interest free period?

i found Alliance Bank Visa Infinite Business Credit Card has 56days interest free period.. is there any other which offer similiar?
*
Don't get it wrong, UP TO 56 days not 56 days...

Normally, 20 days (+2 or 3 days due to weekend / KL holiday or grace period, for some banks only) from statement date, + up to 1 month (28/29/30/31 days) for next statement, + 1 to 2 days for posting of transaction.

Hi does applying cc at Maybank Card Centre (1Utama / The Gardens) faster to.process? Why did u recommend applying it at card centre and not online?

And by banking with Maybank, you meant having an account with Maybank? Like car loan, savings account, etc etc.
*
You can be rejected by Artificial Intelligence for unknown reasons, even you meet all the requirements.
Let humans check your applications, may request further clarification or documents to get the application approved. M2U A.I. don't talk to you, will give you a sorry note instead.

When applying for credit cards, can we include rental income as a form of income on top of your monthly salary?

Of course your NET rental income, anyway it is recorded in your Form B/BE 2019.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a new credit card for my parents/family usage.
Currently I'm using Citi Rewards and just realise it's not a good card at all and we're getting very little out of the card even though we spend quite a lot.

Here are my details:

1. Annual Income: >RM 100k
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably and waiveable either thru call or hit limit
3. Card required for: Refer below
4. Existing credit cards (if any): Citi Rewards
5. Interested in CC from: Any bank also ok
6. Others: Refer below.

Here are some additional info:

Existing Citi Rewards
- 1 principal, 4 supp cards
Advantages:
- 6x premium lounge for principal + supp
Disadv:
- Low points redemption rate
- Lots of exclusions (gov, petrol, insurance etc)

Typical Usage:
- RM 12-15k/statement month
- 1-2k petrol
- 1-2k groceries
- 3-4k utility
- 1-2k gov cukai etc
- 3-4k ewallet & online shopping
- 1-2k overseas & travel
- balance on misc expenditures
Requirement for suggested card
Up to 2x of cards possible;
- 1 set of Maybank 2 Cards Premier (I think this is a must)
- Another card that can be used for government and e-wallet reloads (Maybe just need another card as we use the card to reload a lot into ewallets and local gov taxes also)
*
From your earlier comments at other threads, you are holding quite a lot of credit cards and ewallets, you are an expert already, you should have already got an answer!

(1) Maybank M2 Premier: Need to spend >RM80000 /year, otherwise Annual Fee RM800. Good only if the card user likes travelling. if a person likes only cash rebate, he/she must hold a few credit cards and ewallets to meet the above-mentioned consumptions.
(2) Government is paying very very little (MCC 9xxx) for credit card transactions, so don't waste time to look for a credit card giving reward/rebate to Government-related transactions (eg income tax, council tax etc). The best is to use M2 Premier, HLB Wise, RHB VS/WM, StanChart Just-One Platinum (Special note: Avoid Liverpool Mastercard), CIMB CC to meet monthly spending only, eg SC JOP: RM2100 Government + RM200 Online/ewallet + RM200 Petrol to get RM60 cashback. LHDN is charging +0.8% for CC transactions so avoid using a credit card to pay income tax or capital gain tax.

Some people (especially older generation and from well-to-do family) just don't like to hold too many CCs or credit facilities, they are more interested to make more money instead of looking for savings/rebate from CCs. tongue.gif

Haha those are for my personal cards mostly. This one however, is for my parents and younger siblings.

Yeah if it were up to me, I'd be splitting all the transactions into as many cards as needed to maximize the cashback/points for the different categories of transactions  laugh.gif

But because it's my aging parents and I don't wanna over-complicate things for them, I think I'm probably just going to get them to apply for the M2Premier.
Just need remind them to try their AMEX first, then if cannot use their Visa infinite for everything else.
Guess will have to sacrifice abit for low/zero TP transactions such as E-wallets, Government and Utilities transactions.
*
I am in the same dilemma. smile.gif
CC rewards and rebates are not so important to them.

1. Annual Income: RM 110k
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Doesn't matter .
3. Card required for : would like recommendations from people with similar income to share their cc setups ie ; using A for x , B for y for maximum benefits etc .

4. Existing credit cards (if any): PBB MC/Visa Platinum , MB FCB VS , Citi CB , PBB quantum .

5. Interested in CC from: Currently applying for HL wise for the promotional cashback per 5 swipes .

6. Others : The pbb plat is not optimal for use but i keep it around as it is my oldest CC facility granted to me . i could cancel it depending on situation , im keeping the FCB for the moment as MB has wise installments usage plus i normally use it for sporadic big spends
I use citi cb for its high but limited CB , since i cap the citi easily i recently got the quantum MC to reload ewallets and the visa to supplement my day to day spends with its easy to use 5% on contactless transactions .

One of my other question is , can i use the Quantum MC to reload to bigpay and then use bigpay to fund transfer back to my bank account at an rm 0.50 fee to take advantage of the RM 30 cash back on online transactions ?
*
QUOTE(adele123 @ Jan 11 2021, 09:24 AM)
May i suggest you add PB VS to your PB cards then just remove PBB MC/Visa Platinum. since you already qualified for it. should go for it.

one of the most used cards in the household for me.
*
PB VS - higher income requirement than PB Platinum/Quantum, cannot simply "ADD" card, need to apply (with application form and income documents).

Hi, i am looking for a new credit card to get cashback. Mainly will be used for online transaction & ewallet top up.

I currently have PBB visa sig & PBB Quantum, SC Liverpool & Just 1. Plan to cancel both SC cards since they revised their T&C. But both PBB Cards don't meet my spending quota, i'll need more.

Can any sifu advise which bank offer better cashback for online/ewallet transactions? Currently looking at UOB Yolo & Affin Duo since both cards give 5% & 3% respectively, which is not a bad options to replace SC cards.

Go ahead.

I think they payment is set to auto charged monthly..it's from Great eastern..
*
For online transaction, you need to use Great Eastern ePay.
Direct/Auto Debit is not online transaction.

aeon < unsure
citi cash back

You can use Bigpay Mastercard as you already earned CB from CC -> Bigpay.

Consider other e-wallets as well, eg you can use Boost, Grabpay, TNG wallet or ShopeePay to pay some cukai pintu bills at PAM @ Pos Malaysia (POS Automated Machine). Other channels including Razerpay in-app bill payment, Shopee in-app bill payment, TNG wallet in-app bill payment etc.

For Government bills under Sarawak Government, you can use SarawakPay to earn shake cashback.
