Hi sifus, looking for credit card for airport lounge access.

1. Annual Income: RM112k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: as long as can call to waive is good enough

3. Card required for: airport lounge access (KLIA2 more than KLIA1)

4. Existing credit cards (if any): AFFIN VISA cashback, HLB sutera platinum, PBB visa quantum,

5. Interested in CC from: no preference

6. Others: any extra benefits are welcome.
I heard from my friends Plaza Premium Lounge is like pasar malam now so better to take cards with their own lounges.  shocking.gif

I've been looking at these 2 now:

UOB PRVI Miles Elite Card

- 8x lounge access
- free ride home from KLIA1 with 3 overseas transactions
- UOB lounge
- 300k travel insurance

CIMB Travel World Credit Card

- 12x lounge access with minimum quarterly spend
- 4D3N stay at Anantara
- CIMB lounge
- 1M travel insurance

Wondering if any sifus have both and got prefer one over the other?

Or are there any better suggestion CC that I'm missing out on?

Thanks in advance all!

I got charged 1% when i purchased air ticket from singapore airline. The bank claimed its administrative fee, but administrative fee only applicable for debit card or am i wrong?

When search online, there is a 1% charges when there is conversion involved. When i paid for my ticket it shows in ringgit and I received the sms stating that i paid the exact amount. However when i view it in the statement it is 1% higher than the amount shown in the sms i received.

The thing is, when my dad bought the same ticket using his card there is no 1%. Both using the same bank but different card.

Not all banks charge 1% Cross Border Fee.
Which bank card you used? Hong Leong Bank, CIMB, Standard Chartered, Bigpay?

Because your dad used a prestigious travel card,
If he used a normal credit card, CIMB would charge 1%.

Hi there, looking for a recommendation for credit card.

Annual income : 100k
Existing credit card : Maybank 2 card amex/visa, maybank ikhwan amex, affin duo
Main purpose : Cashback

Currently maxing out all credit card cashbacks
M2Amex - RM 50 (RM 1k spending , 5%)
Maybank Ikhwan Amex - RM 50 (RM 625 spending , 8%)
Affin duo - RM 50 (RM 1666.66 spending , 3%, with statement RM 3050 using BT)

After discovering the wonders of using Spaylater to maximize cashback, have been able to maximize all 3 cashback rewards.

My spendings per month is enough to get max cashback for all 3 cards, but i find that i have extra about RM 500- 1k (Varies every month depending on spending) every month that goes wasted as i cant get anymore cashback.

Can any sifu recommend a card where i can put that extra spending to get cashback?
The spending would be label as online as now i usually put all spendings into Spaylater.

Preferably a card that does not have minimum spending amount to get cashback as may not be able to consistently spend that amount each month eg. RHB Shell (minimum RM 2.5k spending for 5%)
*
Maybank FCB Barcelona VS

RHB Shell Visa
Top up RM2500 to ShopeePay then use it to pay Duitnow QR merchants or Spaylater.
But for Affin Duo Visa, spend RM1000 enough to get RM30 CB, no need to meet RM3000 monthly statement balance.
You don't have to use RHB-Shell Visa or Affin Duo Visa every month.

If i top up shopeepay RM 2.5k to pay off spaylater,  then it defeats the purpose of using spaylater to use both my Amex cards.
Only reason i use spaylater is so that i can get cashback for my Amex cards as alot of merchants dont accept amex

Affin Duo - what i do right now is my insurance auto debits are all there, total RM 1.7k, then the balance of 1.3k+ i use their 0% Balance transfer to transfer both my amex card to the affin duo card so i can reach RM 3k+ statement. Win-Win situation to maximize cashback without extra spending
*
Then use RHB Shell Visa to top up ShopeePay RM2500 every 2-3 months. Use ShopeePay to pay Spaylater debt (RM500-1k varying every month).
Eg Month 1 - RM2500, Month 2 - RM0, Month 3 - RM2500, Month 4 - RM0, Month 5 -RM0, Month 6 - RM2500 ...
Just need > 24 transactions to get annual fee waiver (RM195).

Also you can use ShopeePay to pay Duitnow QR merchants (including hawkers and kopitiams), but some Duitnow QR merchants may not allow Spaylater (eg Ecoshop).

Since benefits for RHB Shell had been nerfed, is there any replacement card for Shell petrol cash back, preferably with free annual fee?

Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Waivable is acceptable

Card required for: Online shopping (Taobao, Lazada top-ups), dining, monthly spend around RM8K–12K

Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank 2 Platinum

Interested in CC from: Preferably premium looking (black + gold), better rebate than M2Card

Others: Working for local Sdn Bhd, only 3 months salary history, want a cool/premium looking card
*
Maybank World Elite Mastercard
Look and feel (metal so heavier) much better than M2 Platinum cards (plastic).
AF RM800 will be waived if based on your monthly spend RM8k.

Wow, i got my cards today. But I m a bit confused, so the 5% cashback on weekend (all spending right?) and 5x treat points on weekdays, both on amex card? so the gold master one basically useless is it?
*
Yes use Amex only.
Sat/Sun 5% CB capped at RM50/month. T&C apply (some transactions no CB)
Mon-Fri 5xTP for most of transactions, 0x/1x TP for some transactions.
Read T&C, PDS.

You may use Mastercard if Amex is not accepted. Mastercard NO 5% weekend CB, No 5x TP. You cannot cancel the card. You need to pay SST RM25 per card every year.

what if i dont activate the mastercard?

and for Amex, I should get CB from spaylater too right if I spend on weekends
*
It will be auto activated and SST charged.
(Refer to T&C, PDS, FAQ).

Yes, but CB capped at RM50 /month only. If RM25000, 125000 TP much better than RM50.

hmm, I just activated the amex one and mastercard there says pending activation. oh well.

Oh, I can just spend RM1000 on weekends to get the RM50, then the remaining rm25000 on weekdays for the TP
*
Bear in mind, you can't pay any amount as you like to Spaylater-EC. Only final bill balance or outstanding balance IN FULL.

Maybank 2 Amex Platinum is good enough with 5X Treatpoints on weekdays (=1% reward).

However. If you are looking for a prestigious card, you may consider MAYBANK WORLD ELITE MASTERCARD. AF RM800 but waived if spending >RM80000 /year.
