Thank you  biggrin.gif , beside the 2% capped, I believe BSN 1% without cap is the best option? Is there any other credit card offer higher cashback / rewards without cap limit?
*
Credit card issuers charge 1%-1.25% extra + Visa/Mastercard International's charge, total 2-2.5% for credit cards.
If 1% CB only, you may consider Bigpay and debit cards as well, cheaper conversion rate (cheaper by around 1%).

Possible to only activate the Visa and cancel the MasterCard? Cause assuming I wasn't able to get SST rebate for any of the cards, paying 50 for another Duo card + 50 currently for the Quantums is kind of painful for me ...
*
No pain no gain.
Don't always expect a good return with zero cost or without effort.

experts, can recommend which card is best to use to pay for lhdn tax in term of cash back and other benefit

thanks
*
Don't use a credit card to pay LHDN as you need to pay 0.8% surcharge.

None of local credit cards is giving cashback or reward to Government-related transactions as our Governments are paying very minimal or FOC (debit) for Visa/Mastercard transactions.

Hi, any recommendation for the best cash back credit card for online insurance payment?
Around RM1k per month just for Insurance alone, is there any 5% CB which gives at least RM50 CB cap?
*
QUOTE(~Curious~ @ Apr 21 2021, 11:30 AM)
1. Annual Income: RM48k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: preferable, I’m low spender.

3. Card required for:
Monthly spending estimate:
Insurance (Allianz & Prudential currently): 1.3k
Top-up to e-wallet (mainly shopeepay): RM200

Negligible expenses (eg occasionally):
Petrol - RM 100
Groceries - RM 100
Grabfood - RM 50
Eat outside - RM50
Looking for: card that gives best return value out of above.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum

5. Interested in CC from: any,

Thanks in advance
*
Affin Duo Visa - 3% on online / direct debit, but you are required to keep Duo Mastercard as well.

PB Visa Signature (6% capped at RM38 CB), PB Quantum Mastercard (5% capped at RM30 CB), Public Islamic Visa Platinum, RHB-Shell Visa (up to 5%), RHB Islamic-Shell Visa (up to 5%), RHB Visa Signature (up to 6%).

Just started working and can now apply for CC, was looking for a good Maybank CC with minimum 30k annual salary.

I've look into petronas and 2 cards, petronas seems better in terms of points but having the 2 cards (AMEX and VISA/Master) could be great for stores and maybe travelling.

note: has to be Maybank, can recommend other banks that are better but would prefer Maybank

*
You are fresh, still too early to bargain with the bank, get any one from Maybank or Maybank Islamic first and build up your credit profile.

QUOTE(~Curious~ @ Apr 21 2021, 12:34 PM)
ok thanks willl look more into this..any justifications y u recommend affin duo over other cards?i see SC's JJOP offers higher cashback %..
*
SC JOP
Online CB up to 15% but capped at RM20
Direct Debit CB up to 15% but capped at RM20

Sifus, any recommendations for this please? How do I apply?
*
Already got Malaysian PR?
It is not easy for a local bank to grant an unsecured loan to a foreigner.
Better apply at Card Centres (eg Maybank Card Centre at The Gardens or 1Utama) or branches. if I am not wrong, Maybank may require you to pledge a FD (so it is more like a secured loan).

Anyway I have 1 month arrear appeared in my CCRIS record for the past 12 months, is the 1 month arrear will be affecting my chances of getting the credit card application approved?

*
"1" is not bad.
All "0" is perfect, but not all borrowers can achieve it.

Don't hesitate, go apply. You don't have to be so perfect and also you don't have to look for a perfect card, get the first one and try. It will take a while for you to discover a most suitable card, we don't know where you intend to spend.

No specific category.. Can be miscellaneous.

I already have PBB Quantum for online and wave, PBB Visa Signature and Affin bank Visa Signature... But all of these are mostly for online and wave transactions.

Anything more than 250 that requires PIN, I can't get any rebate.
*
Then Maybank FCB VS is good at 1% CB, except government-related transaction (MCC9***), ewallets and utilities (electricity and water). CB Capped at RM50 per calendar month.

How about by call in ?

Very easy to REDUCE credit limit, write in by fax/email, the card Centre will take a few days to process.
But if want to increase the credit limit, you need to apply with income documents.

Yup, annual salary exceed than 36k. Current total credit limit (2 cards) = 13k+7k= 20k.
- Good ccris report records (Clear off card bill before end of month (before 30th)).
- 1 card cancelation within same year (could this be the issue?)

5. Interested in CC from: Maybank or Hong Leong Bank

6. Others: Have not had a credit card for years, been paying stuff with debit all my life. Just need this card for credit score that comes with good cash back as a bonus. Not looking to use it as a primary payment source.

Try Maybank Islamic Petronas Visa (8% cashback on Saturday and Sunday), and/or Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Mastercard (5% cashback at Petrol stations / Groceries on Friday and Saturday). SST RM25 per card per year.

P/S: Don't choose Maybank Petronas Visa.

Heya Clarence,

Thanks for the reply. I noticed that both cards are Islamic. I'm a non-Islam, does it still apply ?
*
It is the alternative banking system (Maybank Islamic Berhad) to conventional banking (Malayan Banking Berhad a.k.a. Maybank). Charging interest is haram in Islam, but buy and sell with a profit is halal.

Your religion doesn't stop you to eat halal food and use Islamic banking. Islamic Banking is for everyone including non-Muslims but haram activities will not be allowed (eg you can't use the Islamic cards at casino, gambling, wine shop).
