Question on premature withdrawal of eFD
For Maybank: I have 12-month FD from 1 June 2024 to 1 June 2025, and interest is credited monthly. If I uplift on 1 Dec 2024, how much interest will Maybank claw back ? |

QUOTE(adbacc @ Dec 1 2024, 08:16 PM) speaking from fact or hearsay ?From MBB FAQ QUOTE Can I withdraw my eFD before maturity? Yes, you may. However, there will be no interest paid for premature withdrawals made within 3 months of the placement date. After 3 months, interest will be paid for the number of days the eFD is placed. The interest rate payable is only half of the quoted rate. This post has been edited by ronnie: Dec 1 2024, 09:30 PM |

They will clawback 100% without notice, and 50% with 31 days notice from the principal. 1mr3tard3d liked this post

After my funds entered the MBB twilight zone a few times last year, I have boycotted placing FD in MBB via FPX. I have also heard from other sources that MBB will not invest to correct its system weaknesses in FPX as this transaction type is to be replaced gradually. Not so sure if this is correct.

MBB seems to have many cases money hilang on transit No issue from me, although my last FD was placed 6 months ago with HLB. Because the rates has not been attractive since then. Since HLB offer now is for Fresh Fund so wondering about this the current 3.85% 9m is sort of a decent rate IMO. although i think main priority for me is the BeU by Bank Islam, 4% for 12 months |

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Dec 3 2024, 12:29 PM) Actually the bank Acc created is somehow Bank Islam also. I remember to transfer money to BEU from Maybank or something, i need to select Bank Islam. But yeah, just register and scan face one time only, much better than OTC at Bank Islam. |

QUOTE(SamTheBoi @ Dec 4 2024, 11:29 PM) Salam folks, I put together a simple site for tracking promo fd rates recently, intended to be public benefit project. Lemme know what improvement you would like seeing Put a column indicating placement whether is by way of "Over the counter" or "Online".https://myfd.neocities.org/ Some bank require the promotion rate FD only can be placed at the counter. Some bank require to be placed by online FPX. The indication offer great help to people who primally choose bank for deposit base on the mode of placement FD. Thank you. SamTheBoi liked this post
