Wanted to place it as a joint account, that's why I wanted to place OTC.
I told her internet says can place OTC without being a priority customer but she said this branch cannot. sad.gif

Eh, internet usage functionality depends on branch?? This is so mess up. Maybe the counter staff told you wrong info? Don't trust them too much. BBMB needs 4 people to have mini meeting how to use their system create a normal FD OTC, right in front of me.

sorry, edited my post for clarity.

Anyway, no choice because today is the last day. So I just did everything online.
Actually wanted to have a joint account and monthly interest crediting. Didn't get that in the end.

You need to follow the instructions.
If you see 6 months, then clearly you didn't follow the steps.

I think you misunderstood some parts, first, someone mentioned that can get OTC 4.5% interest if the amount is 200k or above, and the interest will be credited monthly.
If less than 200k, only way to get 4.5% is placing through online but interest credited 6months once if I remember correctly.

This is what I understand from posts above, or I'm the one having misunderstanding sweat.gif

Haha so true. I experienced this & ended up wasting half an hour then still go for pure FD, or withdrawals...

Happy New Year everyone.
Let's hope for better FD rates in this 2023.

I thought 4.8% will only come during March - May 2023. In that case, very likely we will have 5.0%.

Some thought 4.88 % would be more huat going into the Chinese New Year promo period in January 2023. So still got chance for some other banks to up the competition. Happy New Year.

Thanks for info. Ya, very strange to me too. No problem to change it back, just worry any suspicious. Bank can change our settings without inform? Or any announcements that I miss out?
