dont stress yourself with FOMO la

if you already thinking along the line of "my placement very small (amount)", then it's not worth already. you may be ending up spending more.

just put to something easier for you to manage and live a happier life lah

like Optizorb said, put to something with nearer rate like KDI Save, or Aeon Bank lor.



i'm also parking a high-5digit deposits in Aeon Bank first. no time to go MBSB too. will just wait for other FDs to mature then lump it before hitting MBSB when i got the time to visit mbsb branch.

done from Bank Islam 4% 12mth

1) fund from previous placements (matured this week). kept the principal amt in CASA. withdrew the profit.

2) no issue with placements. about 10mins at front counter (for deduction from CASA and fd placements)

3) then to another staff cubicle to sign the certs.

Staff was surprised when i mentioned i withdrew from previous OTC placement via BIMB Online Portal (not app). saved my time for this trip.

i praised them for having this good feature in the web portal!

and also said their app cant do that hope he took the hint, but doubt it could get up to their product/IT team

mine matured 8th and 10th

took out profit. left principal in casa. no time to visit branch earlier.

then on 11th, only visited branch. used the fund in casa for new placements. no fuss.

should be still available la. got competition with mbsb anyway. some don't dare place >250k per bank also.

of course, the earlier the better.

old news lor, originally to expire end June, then extended to end July.


doubt staff can do site visit and handle your cheque/cash

even when doing OTC, there are few processes their supervisor need to approve.

all the security features enforced on digital front due to lack of physical verification taken place. this is fine.

however, it's the human element that's the weekest link. from counter staff to back-office staff to supervisor to branch manager... all human element with authorized access.

usually banks doesn't do cross-platform security measures like simple notification. eg fd uplifted (ANY method), notify via email and sms. better still, bank call customer to notify and verify such action taken place, something like cc spending with unusual high amount or overseas spending.

of course, there could be many cases happened to many banks, just swept under carpet or resolved silently with customer's NDA to protect bank reputation.

for general customers, just be prudent and always check your bannking/financial accounts frequently.

missing $$ is one matter, suddenly having extra $$ is also to be worried too.

fyi, term deposit is the Islamic product naming for fixed deposit (conventional)
