Wow you spray exclusively with Tamiya spray can as well?
I'm on my second build and I'm still using Tamiya spray for now.
I notice sometimes I got a darker tint at 1 side when spraying with Tamiya spray. Any idea why is this happening?
Have been contemplating whether should get air brush or not.
Any recommendations for air brush that is suitable for indoor use? I'm staying with my family and I don't wanna get killed for spraying paint indoors lol.
rich people use Tamiya, rm40 a pop, for a 1/100 kit you need at least 1.5 cans just for the armors, that is not including primers which is another 1.5 cans.
that's easily over rm100 just on paints.
poor man use any cans they can get cheap like those in DIY & Ace.
for wind problem, you can always buy a 30kg box from Pos Laju, cut out the flaps on 1 side and spray in the box. have a fan blowing behind you, this will ensure majority of the paint stays inside the box and less chance dust gets on. if you sayang the box put scrap paper inside so you can change it like diapers. the box is rm9.90 only anyway. so far only manage to get it along KL Sentral Pos Laju.
even with airbrush you will face back spray when you spray hollow areas. same method can be used indoors but you need a vent to route the toxic gas out of the house. but doing it outdoor is better. just get 2 extension power plug so you can get power outdoor.
and get a half face gas mask, normal mask just filter dust not vapor.
and when you leave painted parts to dry, do have ventilation as the parts will still release solvent vapor as it cures.
you know you got lead poison if your mouth taste sweet.
eye goggles, gloves, arm sleeves, socks, long pants & hat are also recommended for your own H&S. If you wear spec you can get big one in Daiso, you ruin your glasses if paint gets on them.
have fun and stay safe.
