QUOTE(xein @ Mar 6 2017, 04:00 PM) The x1 fullcloth is nice but old and small. The mantel is heavy and limits articulation. There are a lot of small parts that can go missing if you are not careful. If it feels loose use cement to fix it unless you are planning to paint. It does look nice (from the pics), I saw a few videos about the mantel blocking the articulation. Now about cement, can you elaborate on this? Or do you mean clay? I currently have a red frame astray and the left arm comes right off easily.. |

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Mar 7 2017, 02:45 PM) Depends on what kind of parts. I did some digging and some said nail polish...But my general fix is well-placed blutac. More detailed fix is dependent on the position and function of the pieces. Also, I just saw the Unicorn PG.. so badass ![]() |

Hey guys, I'm sure this was shown in the Gunpla building 101 thread but it's a very old thread. So I'm wondering if there's any new technique or tools that you guys have to panel lining.
I recently bought a hobby kit from lazada (sanding strip, some tweezers, side cutter and a sakura micron 005 pen). I started doing panel lining for a bit yesterday and it's too harsh on white so I gave up doing it on bright surfaces and focused on red part of my Red Frame Astray MG. I rubbed off the excess after roughly applying the lining. It's decent but not even enough. So I think I'm gonna stop using it. What do you guys use? Tamiya dip panel lining? |

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Mar 13 2017, 04:16 PM) Depends on the grooves. Generally for convenience I use markers from GSI, both standard and pour wash type. GSI, is that the normal Gundam branded markers?QUOTE(mdshaman @ Mar 13 2017, 06:11 PM) On white parts, its better to use gray color for panel lining. Sakura micron do make gray colored ones and a few other pens. If you can't find it near where you live, then a mechanical pencil will do just fine, if you plan to topcoat later. I've read about gray on white. I've also tried mechanical pencil but it's dirty and it's usually not thin enough. Maybe I'll go buy a thinner mechanical pencil... |

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Mar 21 2017, 04:19 PM) You can find this thing practically anywhere at most hardware shops even Mr.DIY, and sometimes even in big bookstores like MPH or Popular. ![]() thanks man. Also I started using Tamiya panel lining and it's actually harder than I thought. I used gray paint on whites and the inconsistency is really obvious. Eventhough I've shook the bottle for quite a while but it's still showing paint inconsistency |

QUOTE(mzack1104 @ Mar 22 2017, 03:45 PM) agreed, assembly process is the best part.. I stop gunpla for almost 10years, what i miss the most is the assembly time.. now just continue back this hobby last 2 weeks Glad I'm not alone. Not a fan of that feminine waist.............plan to buy at least 1 model each month but still prefer the old model kits design.. the current one like barbatos not really prefer.. but that just me |

QUOTE(sixshot @ Mar 22 2017, 05:57 PM) I think if you don't enjoy the process of building a gundam and having the accomplishment feeling when it's complete, maybe gundam is not for you. Maybe get metal build or something, IIRC, they come assembled? |

QUOTE(mzack1104 @ Mar 25 2017, 10:54 AM) I also use gundam marker but looking for copic modeller..as i saw the review its better and more finer than gundam marker If it's for panel lining, I have Gundam panel liner, Micron pen and Tamiya accent panel lining. I can say you need a combination of a pen and the Tamiya ones. Some parts just doesn't suit Tamiya dip type.. |
