so about the spec. any dfference with that?
*
the c-series:
13.3" monitor
intel mobile 945 chipsets
using gma950 as integrated gpu (option: nvidia go 7400)
intel c2d t5500 (1.66GHz)
2.3kg (with battery)

the cr-series:
14.1" monitor
new intel 965 chipsets
using x3100 as integrated gpu (better than gma950) (option: ati radeon x2300 - rm5488)
intel c2d t7100 (1.80Ghz)
built in camera
2.5kg (with battery)

the major difference, the new one (cr-series) come with better specs (camera, better igp) than the previous c-series.

Hmm... when I bought my SZ, I asked the salesperson if I could purchase the extended warranty later. He said no, the extended warranty must be purchased when the laptop is purchased blink.gif

As for the TZ series- speed is relative, but looking at the specs it's not... well, very suitable if you're a gamer or a heavy multimedia user sweat.gif Just that for web browsing, email, word processing... standard business stuff, it should be fast enough laugh.gif

Thanks for the camera capture utility update link! The salesman at Sony Style helped me to correct my camera problem when I upgraded my RAM but it didn't really work after a while for some reason. Now it does (So far) and I hope it stays working laugh.gif

Oh, so really need to buy the extended warranty at same time- means after buy already cannot extend warranty?

Anyone knows what's the difference between the new CR 23 and the CR 11?

The price for the CR23 is cheaper compare to the CR11, yet from the description the CR 23 uses a T7250 where else the CR 11 is a T7150.

They also didn't put the specs for the new CR.....

cuz, they are lazy bummer lol
anyway, the specs, cant help much. better view yourself at sony shop:

sony vaio cr-23g
specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 (-> for reference: http://www.intel.com/products/processor_nu...rt/core2duo.htm )

1Gb DDR2-RAM

120Gb SATA Hard Drive

14.1" WXGA TFTscreen, DVDRW/R DL RAM

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium

Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator x3100

2.5Kg (approx.)

etc , same. iinm.

if want to compare, the new one seem better (processor, hdd space).
no idea really, maybe new price of cr. just like they did on previous model such as c-series.

on the side news. the new sz5 series has arrived cool.gif

Anyone has problems registering for the MySony thing on the website? I haven't been able to register for months, and I had an account since years ago, but it seems to have been deleted and/or missing or something sad.gif

Is there any other place to get the VAIO other than from Sony? Best if can get some discount off the retail price.

I am eyeing the CR22 for office use. Any owners of CR22 here? Is VAIO durable? Can it be used for at least 3 years problem-free? How is the service and support of Sony if there is anything wrong within the warranty period.

I think there's a shop called House of Notebooks in MidValley Megamall that sells VAIO as well. In Low Yat Plaza there's a few shops that sells VAIOs, but they have a Sony sign though. Some of the authorised Sony dealers (Not Sony Style) can bargain wink.gif

thanks guys for the info on VAIO.

I am currently headache in deciding which laptop to buy, older model Sony or Asus around RM3-3.5k or later models around RM4.5-5k. Using the laptop mainly for office work only. So need a sturdily built laptop. Thinkpad is the most solid built but the design and LCD specs a bit outdated and the price is high too. Asus is the other alternative to VAIO.
