always take out the batt. when you are using power adapter.
and store the battery at cool temperature at 40% when not use.
btw the battery is vgp-bpl5 13000 mAh? its cost around rm900~rm1200 at most iinm. you better ask from sonystyle/sony centre about it. same theory apply to the battery i just bought, its cost around rm600~rm800. but i bought it at rm400. you have to make order for the obsolete model battery btw.

Today brought the vgp-bps5 7200mah. Cost rm230. Not original. Will try it out frequently to see the laptop got problem or not.

Is your battery dead as same as mind? Suddenly dead and laptop cannot detect battery present?

yes, it's a powerful machine, but too bad it's vista, no matter how power it is still rasa cam slow je when windows starts up.

i dont know laa about the BT mouse...never mind laa coz it's free after all.

The battery dead gradually. Not instance dead. I notice the battery does not have longer life, gradually reduce from 3 hour to 2 hour, later 1 and half hour, etc. I tried to calibrate the battery, but its already late. I charged the battery few days before it dead (and yes, since its coming to its dead) the capacity of the battery is also decreasing which make odd charging time for 100% fully charged. It require 10 minutes to fully charged from 0.. which somehow strange. Few days later when i try to turn on the notebook with battery, the notebook does not response anymore. The battery bar saying there no battery insert in the notebook which explains that the discharging of the battery (during the day i am not using it) make it as an empty battery brick.

The cause why my battery dead was mention early in this thread. With the new battery and lesson learn plus a guide from batteryuniversity, i am now taking care of li-ion battery for any device. The battery now in good condition and does not suffer odd discharging anymore.

Did some survey today at Mid Valley & LY. They all dont have the special edition Z series. Have to order. Only SS have those special ones.

Note that it is known as the vaio vgn-cs11 in UK. So any Malaysian users having problems with the fan? what about heating from the laptop? Best to have reviews and opinions from you guys! thanks alot.

This is probably an US version of VAIO FW series. You have to know that the US Version and Malaysia (Asia Pasific version) model name AND specification is totally not same. In US SonyStyle website, you can choose your own spec for you VAIO same like Dell as we know now.

Any idea wats the best protection that is best suited for this model? Problem is that the cover surface is matte instead of gloss, its quite hard to find a transparent skin for matte surfaces

its the common problem in cs. you either change the fan (return back, there some serial number of the fan part, but i forgot) or live with it..

But as for starter, maybe VAIO FW or CS series.


The cheapest is NS series and P series.

It expensive due to:

1. Branding. : Yes, have to admit this. any sony notebook will cost a lil bit expensive than the one with similar specs.
2. Quality. : I have experienced and honestly said that their notebook quality can be qualified from mediocre to elite. I'm satisfied with its built quality, its more sturdy than the Acer i used earlier if i want to compare them. Its always the best to play around with the notebooks at their store. This apply to any product you are going to buy.
3. Design : The notebook is design to have decent looks and it is always top-notch when sony designing their notebook.
4. Beauitful LCD screen ever. period.

Their premium notebook currently: Z series, TT series, AW series. while TT come second as most of the feedback saying that the TZ has better looks over TT, performance wise, its won by TT series. But people mostly settle with Z series since it sits in the middle when it come for mobility and powerhouse machine.

Best seller series in Malaysia: SR series.

I am now sound like a promoter lol. Anyway, I encourage you to go to their store/shop to play with the products. Read the reviews (e.g: cnet, notebookreview forum - sony thread, theres alot to mention. just google it out.) too.
