Price is RM2788 for lower model & RM3788 for the higher specs. Understand that the only actual sets in Malaysia are in Sony Style on display currently. no stocks yet, just display. Was told that worldwide there is no actual shipment yet . Only pre-orders are being accepted currently.

So i guees the only place we can see the actual thing is in Sony Style. Was in the KLCC outlet the other day. It looks beautiful!! I am trying very hard to resist the temptation..... ........

Most important thing is to create the recovery discs first! Go to search and type recovery. VAIO Recovery Tools should be in the list. double click to launch and select create recovery discs option. Then follow the instruction. If not mistaken, you will need 3 blank DVD-R or DVD+R discs or 2 blank DVD dual layer discs. Then just follow the instructions!

i loaded my CS16 with ubuntu 8.10 64-bit. run so smoothly.

performance is quite good even under heavy graphics

I just bought FW23 with 3288 cause got 200 rebate in last week fair in Jaya33, plus give 160GB maxtor external hardisk n some freebies plus lot voucher n photo miami voucher membership. Very good performance so far, The 3Dmark06 goes to 2700, quite good on the 3D games performance, i saw review online say is fair to play 3D games, but i think is GC almost same performance with my previous model BenQ S41 that goes to 2750 in 3d mark06 de. The sound when plug into my altec lansing is very good quality, think the internal sound card is good.

By the way, me also preorder the Vaio P low spec, cause 3.8k for small notebook is crazy, i get it to my gf de. Anyone have any idea about the sony vaio workshop?

Wow its really a good deal. ANyway, what is Jaya33? =/ i bought the fw23 bout 1 week before new year and i got no free gift =( wanted to upgrade ram but they jacked the price like hell.. rm260 for another 2gig. WtF lol!

hi all...just got my FW23G today... bought at Sony Center Mahkota Parade Melaka at retail price RM3488. Just like 'blackmarket' up there, got no free gift except for a cikai optical mouse and 2 biji mandarin orange....hahaha.

Ya, normally Sony Vaio centre is selling with fix price with FW23G RM3488. The things is the promotion only discount more than normal price, sony very stick with they selling price cause they dun want drop they price to spoiled they product value. Even sony stuff told me they also cant get discount for 200 with stuff price.

Jaya 33 is opposite with digital mall in PJ seksyen 14. A lot ppl say sony vaio expensive is not worth to buy, but the value of 2nd notebook is quite good.

Lets give my example, i bought BenQ S41 last year 3.4k around, now selling new only 2399 some more with better spec. So it drops 1k n make my previously 3.4k BenQ 2nd price selling around 1700 @@.

But is sony Vaio some body buy CS series last year 3.6k around, now brand new is 3K but no more stock. But they still can sell it above 2.4k around for 2nd hand CS series.

Thats what I observe with my experience. The ATI HD 3470 performance almost same with BenQ 8600 GS, I did do test on both machine together, ATI radeon performs 2700++ 3Dmarks06 while Geforce 8600GS perfoms 2750++ 3Dmarks06.

For me I prefer ATI than Gforce series, cause ATI more stable n cooler than Gforce. I experience terribel experience with BenQ GC last time, yes it is burst duel wit manufacture problems and lucky they do free service on it.

According Nvidia said, Gforce series is not they produce one, they are sub to others factory to manufacture. Nvidia only concentrate on they workstation card which call Quodro series. But overall, some ppl like Gforce more than ATI, cause market like to promote Gforce all the time like Mac vs Windows, more ppl prefer windows cause market make the windows famous.

By the way, enjoy your FW23G, do buy transparency sticker on your laptop cover to protect white surface, its really easy dirty as i saw in showroom and advice from Sony Vaio Stuff. And I bought RM10 keyboard protector as well, very good usage.

keyboard protector? does it fit every key perfectly? or just flat 1? where u get it anyway? it seems hard to find


Added: i just discovered something weird bout my laptop. Coz most of the time i wont insert the battery when playing games and those games that i play usually runs smoothly... But today coz i travaled to some places, i played games with , battery inserted and the with the Ac power adapter(not sure whats the exact name for this thing). but the gaming performance decreased alot. So after i charged the battery and removed it, the gaming performance is back to normal again. Weird huh?

Hi, i have bought fw12G half year ago with 4gb RAM. however, the i couldn't ultilise all the 4GB ram for my 32bit OS. Thus, i plan to upgrade it to 64bit. However, i have read a lot of matters regarding the driver for 64bit. Where can i get 64bit driver for my laptop?

is there any solutions for me to fully ultilise the RAM?
anyone using Ubuntu 64bit? kindly give some comments. thanks

when start to install.it will ask to remove "McAffe Internet"
but the problem is i cant find that kind of software in my vaio
so how to uninstall .. grrr .. frusted ..

theres no support for 64-bit OS on VAIO FW12. but you can try find it in the link below.

have you remove it properly before from Control Panel (Add and Remove Programs)? sometimes the registry still have McAffe Internet there even though you already uninstalled it. try CCleaner to manage your registry and dont forget to backup them first.

can my FW23 upgrade with 4GB of RAM? or should I also upgrade to Vista Ultimate after installing the RAM?

3GB ram, hdd 250GB
os: windows vista home premium.
but it seem like very lag. especially gamming, damn lag.
