fw23 can run far cry 2? hows the graphic level of far cry 2? similiar to COD 4? and i wonder if fw23 can play left 4 dead. I havent try any shooting games on my fw as i heard shooting games require superior gc. Mind to tell more bout what games u have install in your fw and does it run well?

I tried fifa 09 on my laptop and it lags once in a while.

in addition, as i asked earlier, my fw23 gaming performance is bad when im not using the AC adapter. And i hv to remove the battery while playing games. Is it normal?

not advisable to 4gb. u can hardly notice the diff from 3gb. try uninstall all the unused apps. try uninstall your antivirus if u had one.

Your hard disk may be going to sleep. Go to Control Panel, Power Options Advanced and set it to a longer time before it sleeps.

Not worth upgrading to 4GB ram if you're not using 64-bit Windows. Normal Windows cannot use all 4 GB of your ram.

It is still in production, just that they discontinued the VGN-12G/B and came out with the VGN-26 and VGN-27 which has a Blu-ray drive.

Thanks. In fact I wanted to buy the Z-26 model but its costly. Intend to wait for the next PC fair early April, maybe they'll give alot of freebies or a discount in price.

to those who having slow performance, try uninstall the McAfee Antivirus, and get other antivirus software. e.g: Avira.

i had just bought a cs series on last pc fair.
my spec is dual-core processor t3400 (2.16Ghz)
3GB ram, hdd 250GB
os: windows vista home premium.
hmm.gif but it seem like very lag. especially gamming, damn lag.
do anyone is cs user and face for the same problem?
*
maybe its your default antivirus (McAfee?) is the culprit of this problem. when my cousin bought the cs, its already install with Avira haha.
and dota should run well, heck even gma900 can play it too.

Anyway just want to share some ATI Color Settings for new and current Vaio SR owners. I tweaked my color settings and now the colors are so much deeper and saturated. Try the following:

1. Go to Vaio Control Center > Display > Video&Photo Color Settings > Uncheck 'Enable the Photo Color Setting'
2. Restart PC
3. Make sure brightness is set to maximum
4. Go to Catalyst Control Center > Graphics Setting > Color > Set the following configuration

Red Channel: Gamma 0.95, Brightness -20
Green Channel: Gamma 0.95, Brightness -20 (You may try until -35 if you feel your screen has greenish tint)
Blue Channel: Gamma 0.95, Brightness -20

Enjoy deeper and more contrasty colors.

I have not tried on other VAIO series, just SR-series. You can try it if you are using ATI GPU. Best is to use a hardware color calibrator. The settings are adapted from the VAIO FW forum and based on my eye observation. So far the settings are pretty good.
