anyone recently bought a PS4 pro? ive recently received mine after 6 months of delay, now how do i register my warranty?

the asia website is down for almost 2 weeks now and on if i was asked when i bought the unit what date should i tell them??(this is using the sony call center for registering my PS4 PRO)

So can I purchase the 1 year psplus now and then later on use the 3 months that i got for free? or does the 3 months have an expiry to when it is to be activated?
