Was sponsored one last year. It was good while it lasted.... like 4 months lol. Heck, it showed signs of breaking after 1 month+. I already knew I had a bad piece as right out of the box, all the joints were squeaking and the shoulder buttons were getting stucked (L1/R1) with just a few rapid presses.
A month later, the right analog started to drift and while it wasn't a common occurrence, it has more than enough times screw up a lined up headshot on my end. Then when it came to the month where it died, the battery gave out first (which was a simple fix for me though), but more importantly the bluetooth started to go haywire and will frequently disconnect for absolutely ZERO reasons. It was also at this time the shoulder buttons were completely fcked, it will stick 90% of the time and my R2 will button will often cease to register an input.
The built quality of SCUF is basically hit and miss, but more often than not it's a miss. I know a personally know someone who has had their SCUF inifnity since 2014 and it's still working like a champ until today. But me personally, lmao - Yeah SCUF should be renamed SUCF.
Took money out of my own pocket and customized another DS4 from Battle Beaver instead. Ended up to be cheaper, higher built quality and it still works absolutely fine with zero issues until today, 7 months later.
CinchGaming and SHARQ are good alternatives too btw.
SCUF is great as long as you are willing to roll the dice, hope you get a good piece and really, really hope it stays alive for longer than a year.
Thanks for sharing.
Yeah. I guess it's just horrible... most of the time.
