nola, just that im planning to get a bike with sora groupo instead of 105 or tiagra. heard many comments bout sora. the thumb shifter problem. does it really cause a lot of trouble to cyclist in terms of shifting gears when on drop bar?
*
the only downside of sora is it cant been operated from the drop because the thumb shifters..thats all..
other than that,completely fine .......

Sup guise! Coming to the USA turned me into a roadie. Just got a new bike: 2011 Cannondale CAAD10-5, imho the best aluminum frame one can buy. Total weight: 8.39kg.

But I still have my old 2006 Giant OCR 3

You're probably best on a 56cm. I'm 5'7 and I ride 52cm.

Hi Sky,

Your height would probably requires size 56 or above.

I would recommend you to visit Specialized Store in Kota D'sara for body fitting.

Exchanging ideas there will lead you understand more on bikes that you looking for.

I am aiming to get one secondhand bike due to my budget constrain. therefore walking in a bike store without buying might not be a good idea?

Now I find it difficult to buy a secondhand bike cause it's difficult to source a frame which is exactly suitable for you

I still feel that verifying your body geometry / bike fitting is the first thing to do before choosing a bike.

Irregardless, if you're getting help from the bike shop or DIY (which usually you need a friend to help on)

Go on to the internet to search on bike fitting and you should able to get some useful information.

Some head up to you.
Since you are 5"11, it is important to measure your body and leg length.
This will help you to get correct reading on the top tube and seat tube measurement. icon_rolleyes.gif
