I don't think the 7265-N card can have 1k ping in every game, it depends heavily on the environment and the compatibility of router as well. If you don't wish to upgrade to 8260-AC card, we are still able to help on checking whether your card is functioning well.

The heatsink are underneath that area, you should expect the temperature to be warm.

As long as it's not on the palm rest then it's fine.
