using Z5, have 1 M2 SSD and 1 sata SSHD installed.

That's all the available ports used for storage, right? My SSD 250GB only, run out of space. I assume I have to buy a new larger SSD to replace the 250GB SSD?

hi, this file already broken, anyone have any working link for me to download

cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

http://www.illegear.com/downloads/z5skylakebiosupdate.zip

Steps (DOS method):

1. Prepare a USB pendrive and make a bootable USB pendrive with Rufus, download Rufus from https://rufus.akeo.ie/
2. Open Rufus, file system choose "FAT32", create a bootable disc using "MS-DOS", format the pendrive.
3. Extract and transfer the downloaded BIOS files to the bootable USB pendrive.
4. Make sure the AC adapter is connected. Press F2 to enter into BIOS control panel upon boot up, set the pendrive as the highest boot priority, save and restart.
5. Flash BIOS, type "dos.bat", computer will restart by itself, after restart the computer will start flashing BIOS *warning do not remove the USB pendrive and power source during flashing*.
6. Enter F2 BIOS again, click "load default settings", done.

Hi bro!
do you know whether Z5 Skylake can support 2TB m.2 sata storage?

I not sure, I think better you bring the laptop to shop for test out, or ask the Illegear shop. I only put 512 GB for the moment. 😅

Hello fellow owners,

after many years, my z5 now can not turn on, power indicator light is on but nothing happen pressing power button, long press will cause the light to switch off and on again like a reset. It briefly displayed cmos checksum bad a day before but still can get in windows and used normally, then the next day can't start at all, unplugging the cmos battery does not help.

unfortunately i am in kuching now, so it would not be possible to send back to KL for checking. Looking for any reliable repairer in kuching if anyone knows.

Thanks.

Just an update in case anyone in kuching need to service

I found an independent repair service called M.D. COMPUTER STATION, got my z5 repaired, some problem with the motherboard and it has been fixed, can use like normal now, the owner is quite nice and responsive, repair and cleaning + thermal, RM490. Quite a reasonable price considering buying new laptop is so expensive now.

This is his fb, it has the contact number and he is easily reached.

Hopefully my laptop can tahan for another year or 2 and no more chip shortage/ gpu problems etc when i go for the next purchase. biggrin.gif

Does anyone have a damaged z5 just sitting there collecting dust? I'm interested in buying one part (if you are willing to scrap sell).

Bye bye my ILLEGEAR Laptop battery. It is 100% faulty. Officially removed from my Laptop. Since I no longer bringing out the Laptop, battery is unnecessary anymore.

Now my laptop is official mutant to PC 😂

Gonna necro this post but need some advice. I have the Z5 Skylake as well and the battery is dead, anyone managed to get their hands on any oem battery? I went back to illegear but they mentioned they don't have any stock.

This laptop is quite old already. I don’t believe any manufacturer will support it for that long. You should probably use it with a plug-in charger always.
