hi guys,

Just found out about this topic. sorry, i didn't really join the earlier discussion, probably later when i'm free.

Just want to share that i'm still an avid comic books collector altho my age almost close to 30 years! Started when i was in my secondary with x-men (those with jim-lee's), x-factor (cos of quesada), joe madureira works, some from daredevil, deadpool, x-men's series, i forgot actually, was it phalanx convention? and later when image started up: wildC.A.T.S, spawn, maxx, prophet (stephen platt; probably most of you don't know him) and batman done by kelley jones. Still have some of the rare, or what you guys called it collectors items, apparently not in mint condition, so i guess i'm gonna keep it for my grandson!

After bored with work, that's when the idea to continue again started. So, i look for graphic novels, not that frequent shopper anymore, but once in a month i spare my cash for at least one title. My guideline based on this url from wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_graph...:_Award-winning

As you can see, my transition from heavily biased towards art during my teenage years and now have shifted towards heavy writing and plot type of comic books. Recently bought watchmen by Alan Moore, not that impressive artwork, but really appreciate the storyline. I heard the movie will release next year?

Please also share any graphic novel that you guys find it interesting, who knows i might add it to my list for next month shopping!

i believe its the phalanx covenant...but i could be wrong.
i also read now and then, but mostly tps's as i rarely have time to collect comics now.
what im reading now...the walking dead and the new avangers.
not really good with the indie scene, but last time i collected the out there, with ramos with artwork. i thoight that was cool.

Phalanx Convenant. In that time it is an intro for Generation-X.

Well nowadays, it is the big Cosmic Event in Marvel. Where the space adventure - Annihilation just show how deadly these dudes are.

You can get in Kino or Borders in Trades.

Annihilation Wave 1 is about Negative Zone dude called Annihilus taking out the Skrulls I think.

Wave 2 is about those Phalanx taking over the space.

hey eric.tangps
That should refresh my mind, still have that gen-x #1 by bachalo with that gloss cover, or was it another special issue? couldn;t remember exactly, but its not with me now. at my parents home. Looks like they run some serious plot in Marvel lately. Probably drop by or check whether its worth the bucks or not. Keep the post coming in guys, really enjoy that

Generation-X lasted a while with Emma Frost and belated Banshee in charge.

It is later cancelled like Mutant-X, X-Man, Excalibur, etc. citing low sales.

i have a signed and authenticated version of that Generation x #1 - bachalo and writer as well as the first 30 or so books.

like the rest of my comics, there are now gathering dust in boxes and protective sleeves in my hometown... any takers?

damn, i really liked Generation X back then, Bachalo's art kicked arse, too bad he left after 20-ish issues...

Well in Malaysia, it is hard to sell comic (s) especially signed version.

Not much taker. I reckoned you got more chances selling off Gila2, Gempak. etc.

Most of us own comics from the 90's era. Only a small number of individuals possess comics from the 80's. That doesn't indicate that your 90's comics are insignificant. Of course there is a price tag on it but so unfortunately to say it is not as market value (collectible value). sad.gif

I strongly propose to those who want to liberate their comics to list out and create a thread in the garage section respectively. You never know your collecting dust comics are in fact the sought after comics for god know how long by some Regular Joe in LYN. Imagine LYN like a SPCA, in this example is Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to comics, sell your once worship comics to others who will take care of them like you once did. blush.gif

Of course here in Malaysia you can't just multiply the USD by comparing the online market value. Try to get a tolerable and agreed price from you and the buyer. I'm sure you can work something out. icon_rolleyes.gif

There is quite a few thread selling comics by now. Just go on search "comics" in the garage section and you will see that a few did make their sales. shocking.gif

I think I part ways with my collected works in the year 2030... Hehehe... I wonder if LYN is still in business... hmm.gif

I am from Subang Jaya, Selangor. I only collect Superman comics and comics with cool story lines like Batman VS Predator, 'What If The Hulk Killed Wolverine?', Spawn VS Batman, or cool covers. Don't own a shop though, but just like collecting them. Seldom read though.

Looking for Superman VS Batman and JLA VS Predator.
