Are marvel comics circa 94 -96 (mostly x-men etc including signed and ltd editions) and image comics (early gen 13) worth anything? I've got boxes sitting at home gathering dust...

You can check my first post and list out those titles you have to know their worth online. But that is as far as it goes... To sell your comics in Lowyat or online, a simple supply and demand fact will do.  flex.gif

Your comics can always sell but the price is always in the hand of the buyers. Unless you wouldn't mind waiting for the right buyer who agrees to your price.  icon_idea.gif

Sorry to tell it so harshly but it's the truth...  unsure.gif

Hi Guys!
Glad could find an active comic thread out here in good ol LYN! actually i was hoping you guys could help me out, I was wondering if we could compile a list of the comic shops in Klang valley or even Malaysia. Wonder where u guys in penang buy ur comics from? Don't tell me everyone buys it from Ebay? anyway...i just started collecting comics about 2 years ago, and i have about 70% of the whole civil war colection..yes..im one of the suckers who enjoy collecting the thin comics(waddaya call em?)...seldom buy TPB or even HC..hahaha
Anyway, the shop i go to is Comics Corner in SS15. The malay guy there is kinda knowledgeable but they seem to always run out fo the good popular comics..serves me right for going there once a month..haha. Iwas hoping to source my comics from other shops..the one in mid valley seldom stock up the thin comics(gee, i really dunno wats it called) and they take a long time to order stuff. SO guys, hope u can help out a buddy here and provide some good reliable comics shop address!

Thanks! will try to list down my collection sometime soon!
maybe we can do some small gathering and compare comics or sumthin! haha..thisis so geek culture...but i love it

heheh i used to buy stuff from comics corner all the time about ten years ago shocking.gif
Back then it was owned by a chinese dude (i think he was called Jason if my memory fails me not) and his fiancee. You'll sometimes see his sister (quite hot, or maybe it was just the teenage hormones) and mother there too. The best part was that they'll allow you to be there when they unpacked the goodies from overseas so you'll pretty much get first pick!

i have a signed and authenticated version of that Generation x #1 - bachalo and writer as well as the first 30 or so books.

like the rest of my comics, there are now gathering dust in boxes and protective sleeves in my hometown... any takers?

damn, i really liked Generation X back then, Bachalo's art kicked arse, too bad he left after 20-ish issues...

Paperbacks and hardcovers are more popular than direct editions nowadays?

I won't exactly say downloads 'killed' the comics industry. Most of us collected comics not only for the story but for the 'comic' itself...

What caused the local comic industry to 'mati' was probably the exchange rates - comics were getting expensive. And the producers like Marvel and Image weren't helping themselves with 'special' editions, multiple covers, multi title crossovers blah blah blah. WHen i started i only had to buy two x-man titles a month, when i stopped there were at least ten concurrent titles.

And the rise of manga/anime. I wasn't here for around 10 years from '95 onwards so i don't really know what happened - b4 i left, anime was expensive (Comics Corner imported a dubbed Appleseed for me for around RM160!!!) but when i came back in '05, everything was dirt cheap - licensed locally perhaps?

To be honest, comics never stood a chance, especially the direct edition ones.
