Been reading 17pages of review. Seem like filco is the way to go. Red switch for gaming and blue for typing. Used red and brown before. Wana try something new like mx blue for a change. But i game more than typing so seem like a bad idea buying blue..

Any opinions? Seem like filco feels the best, honestly havent tried ducky or poker before so i cant judge.

By the way, any good replacement keys icould get from? To spice up the KB, hehe

Hmm, my first board is mx red, 2nd is mx brown and then gateron yellow, topre and latest board is mx blue.
And when I got it, mx blue feels really weird, you need alot of force to overcome the tactile point and sometimes if you didn't release the key all the way, the key may stuck at the middle and can't actuate until you fully release the key.

IMO, gateron linear is the way to go tongue.gif

Anne Pro spacebar got rattly sound ma?
Quite interested in getting one with gat brown as well, how is it compared to the cherry counterparts?
*
Think the spacebar is ok for me. Some users on reddit complained about the stabilisers being rattly though. It's fixable I think.. (typical Chinese qc haha)

I haven't tried cherry MX browns before but I did try blues before... Definitely prefer the browns.. General consensus is that Gateron feels smoother to type on than cherry.

I do wish Gats are more readily available on other keyboards rather than just on obscure Chinese made ones.

Hi , need recommendation for my first mkb. My budget is 350, able to stretch to 400 but nothing more.
Needed
-Full-sized (uses numpad)
- Mx blue switch
Bonus (if applicable)
-Backlit

The keyboard that I am currently looking at are IKBC C104, CM Masterkeys Pro L (White LED) and Ducky Zero Non-backlit (new DS ABS).

Or should I save more and a Filco as it is highly recommended ? (Will not buy another keyboard till it dies on me)

Since this will be ur only board, dont buy Filco.
got many downside, no backlit, no volume control, no multimedia keys, no macro, not programable, no this, no that.
having so many downside will make u want another board.

typing wise, the best out of all off the shelf board i tried(topre not included)

If filco is just a basic board with excellent typing experience, what board would you recommend instead or between CM , IKBC and Ducky would be the best choice for quality and typing experience.
From all the downsides you listed, the only bummer would be the absences of backlit which was actually one of my criteria but due to budget restrain I put it as necessity instead. As for others , I dont really use it yet seems to be good to have for the price .

i never say its a basic board. it doesnt have a basic price. haha
and Filco has premium quality too, not just the typing experience.

as for me, i dont really care bout lights, since i game/use pc w lights on. rarely i turn off unless someone is sleeping over. but it comes back to the word "rarely". i just use a table lamp for these times.

as for recommendation, i cant really choose which coz i nvr experience them. but me being a newbie, i would choose what please my eyes the most since all those 3 is recommended by sifus here. u can choose which has the better colour? font? keycaps material? finishing material? etc etc? <--- ur preference
My 1st board is a Ducky Zero 2108, satisfied w it except for its cherry stab which is use in all 3 of ur suggested board. Those stabs may be tuned better by their respective manufacturer. but once i tried costar(filco) yes it is damnnnnn better. cheers for costar.
but bear in mind, someone i know sold off his Filco for a Leopold FC750R n claims their stabs is good though it is a cherry stab.
and cherry stabs makes it easier to change caps too.
owh u can google cherry vs costar stabs. lots of info online. not just forum.lowyat.net.

All in all, good luck in choosing ur 1st n only board.
Ill still suggest Filco since it is a damn good board. n still will look professional n cheap when u bring to office/uni.
No one knows my ugly looking basic black KB is actually worth 300. lol
well not untill i start changing keycaps. whistling.gif

Ayam n00b, but can confirm that Costar stabs feel much better & less rattly than Cherry stabs. However, I did get to try a Leopold board recently, and the Cherry stabs on those is quite solid & dare I say almost the same or really on par with my Filco's Costar stabs. IMHO, Filco should really addon features or otherwise reduce their premium pricing.

BTW don't discount IKBC. I tried one of their more basic boards recently and found it was quite solid IMHO. The price is quite reasonable too.

In your opinion, what lacks functionality in filco, that are present in other mkb within/below price point which you hope are included ?
Does the upgrade of rm150 extra compared to IKBC , justifies its overall experience ?
Where did you get to 'molest' brows.gif a leopold ?

You can try Ultimate Zone at Jaya One. Not sure if their Leopold still in stock though. You could try to contact them first. They always welcome browsers who just want to molest the different types of MKB available at their shop
