Hi , need recommendation for my first mkb. My budget is 350, able to stretch to 400 but nothing more.
Needed
-Full-sized (uses numpad)
- Mx blue switch
Bonus (if applicable)
-Backlit

The keyboard that I am currently looking at are IKBC C104, CM Masterkeys Pro L (White LED) and Ducky Zero Non-backlit (new DS ABS).

Or should I save more and a Filco as it is highly recommended ? (Will not buy another keyboard till it dies on me)

Since this will be ur only board, dont buy Filco.
got many downside, no backlit, no volume control, no multimedia keys, no macro, not programable, no this, no that.
having so many downside will make u want another board.

typing wise, the best out of all off the shelf board i tried(topre not included)

If filco is just a basic board with excellent typing experience, what board would you recommend instead or between CM , IKBC and Ducky would be the best choice for quality and typing experience.
From all the downsides you listed, the only bummer would be the absences of backlit which was actually one of my criteria but due to budget restrain I put it as necessity instead. As for others , I dont really use it yet seems to be good to have for the price .

Ayam n00b, but can confirm that Costar stabs feel much better & less rattly than Cherry stabs. However, I did get to try a Leopold board recently, and the Cherry stabs on those is quite solid & dare I say almost the same or really on par with my Filco's Costar stabs. IMHO, Filco should really addon features or otherwise reduce their premium pricing.

BTW don't discount IKBC. I tried one of their more basic boards recently and found it was quite solid IMHO. The price is quite reasonable too.

In your opinion, what lacks functionality in filco, that are present in other mkb within/below price point which you hope are included ?
Does the upgrade of rm150 extra compared to IKBC , justifies its overall experience ?
Where did you get to 'molest' brows.gif a leopold ?

No dip switch, no NKRO via USB, no programming, no media keys, etc. But then again, some people actually like the fact that they are bare bones as this. Different strokes for different folks.
Went there yesterday. They only have the FC900R & FC980C in stock now. FC900R, good solid board, their MX Reds felt smoother than the ones I have IMHO, could just be placebo. Tried the FC980C, typing on the electrostatic capacitive switch felt like typing on clouds or even boobs tongue.gif
Many of the IKBC reviews I've found are in either Vietnamese or Chinese. Can google translate the page, but pening la nak baca. Yup, can confirm staff at Ultimatch friendly and will let you open boxes just to try.

Which board has the MX Pink? For me, I'm itching to try MX Blacks now. 45g is too light for me, and I'm starting to dislike the clicks of blues.

i just type in "IKBC review" most of it in english. moreover the guy asking just want to know IKBC brand quality. not certain model.

Ok thanks . I guess I need hands on for both ikbc and filco to justify the price.

Good luck with your search. Don't go too far down the rabbit hole biggrin.gif

Yea. I have been looking at mkb for a few yrs now. Didn't prioritise keyboard until 1yr ago when typing became a daily routine. Was planning to settle with a china board but would rather settle for a better mkb since it would (might) be my only keyboard investment.

I have that keyboard, overall, it's a weapon.. sturdy and can be use as a weapon.  brows.gif
Good build, but it's heavy. If you like it, get it. Since, mkb now cost more than 300. And Trigger-Z product cost already > 300.
*
Ok. I guess I would go for it. Pretty worried about the blue led(highest failure colour) since I would be picking mx blues. Wouldnt need weapon in the room anymore tongue.gif .
I think that TriggerZ is already out of production so <300 biggrin.gif

So blue LED's mean the board has MX blues?
*
Apparently so . based on their website

Blue LED on Blue Switch models
White LED on Brown Switch models
Red LED on Red Switch models

Would it feel similar to the quickfire rapid-i? Any thoughts?

That design is downright hideous tho haha.

True that triggerZ have a below average design , especially the huge logo on the top right.

Not cheap. I bought it a year ago from Sri Computer clearance also RM300. It's not bad, even have 2usb port extension to plug your mouse. Not to mention the palm rest is a bonus.

About a month later, I went to a warehouse sale and bought CM Stealth for RM200. I decided to use this one instead since it had mx red which is softer. Was planning to use the trigger for my office work but laptop was stolen during a break in. Still haven't bought a replacement.

TriggerZ doesnt have usb hub, I guess that was trigger (slightly older than triggerZ). Gotten the keyboard, feels solid and all but the rubberised part on the palm rest was too sticky ( old product dont blame though), washed it off and now its awesome rclxm9.gif .

Sad to hear about your laptop, Hopefully your company compensate for your replacement smile.gif

My bad... recheck my box and indeed it was without Z.

Why don't you returned it? I would really hate it when it become sticky. Mine was in perfect condition despite being an older product.

I dont really like rubberised surface since I have sweaty-er palms , the rubber surface would be more of a hassle than being a nice touch. As for the frame of the keyboard, it wasnt as bad as the palm rest and I dont touch the frame much so it more a ' nicer finishing' for an occasional touching.
