Anybody interested in Razer Ornata Chroma or Ducky Zero DK2108 Mx Brown? Selling mine. Link in my thread.

Getting myself an iKBC F108.

Good choice there mate. Am a F108 user right now. Red switch that is. Assuming you have blue switch since it's in your signature. So, slightly less of an issue for the wobbly stabilizers. I was not really aware of the issue until I picked up my GK64 and started some simple mods to it. Then I realized the F108 had the same issue but way better than the stock GK64. Now I'm thinking of ways to sort of "fix" the F108 stabilizers. In anyway, good choice on the F108. smile.gif

about ikbc, i almost forgot about this, but i think it's useless to wait for their mf series locally anymore. it's available for so long almost everywhere. just not here (now v2 already)

Yeah man! I read about the MF series as well and also asked Ultimate.Zone if they are bringing this is or not but sadly answer is no. sigh...

nevermind mf87 is available in singapore; very near only lol

yes, ikbc's stabilizers are still better than gk64. luckily it's an easy fix in gk64. now they're much better. hopefully genuine cherry stabs can help improve a bit more.

Anyone can recommend compact mechanical keyboard with USB hub and Audio jacks

I'm currently planning my couch gaming set up. I have a wired mouse and a wired headset so I want the keyboard to have USB pass-through as well as audio jacks to minimize cabling. I also want the keyboard to be compact since I have a DIY lapboard about 70 cm (about 28 inches) wide.

No point in spending on wireless devices since I already have most of the equipment I need.

However, so far I haven't found ANY compact or tenkeyless mechanical keyboard with both USB pass-through and audio jacks. The nearest so far is the Roccat Ryos TKL Pro which has 2 USB ports (and quite pricey). Another option is the Roccat Sova MK which has a super compact keyboard integrated with a lapboard. Again, with 2 USB ports. I know I could get a 3.5 mm to USB adapter, but that usually comes with an intergrated sound card which I don't want.

So far Razer blackwidow ultimate 2016 is the closest I can get under RM 400, but it's quite big, so not much space left for a mousepad.

Seriously... isn't there any keyboard models on the market for this? I'm not a hardcore gamer so the switches aren't that important. Just want to get away from membrane keyboards this time.

PS
Sorry for the repost, but I got no replies in the hardware section, so I figured if anyone knows they should be in here.

The Sova has 2 USB ports, but no audio pass through. Also, I think the Mechanical version is around RM 1000 which is over my budget.
Been eying it though, good suggestion. smile.gif

Long story short, I returned the board for full refund because the vendor has shitty customer service. Decided to not buy with them anymore even though they are pretty much the only shop that carry Filco boards at that time, and pre-ordered DS2 not long after.

Sometimes I still miss that board though.

As far as I know, there are currently no compact mechanical keyboard with both USB hub and audio passthrough. But since you discovered Roccat Sova, maybe you can consider modding an audio extension cable into that?

Thanks for the input. Yes, I have been searching for some time now. The Sova is interesting yes, but I have a similar setup already that cost me less than RM100.
The Sova MK is still RM 1000 without the mod needed to get the audi pass through.
I based my DIY board on this guy who made the original post, be sure to scroll down to see his step by step assembly.

https://medium.com/@_jh3y/pc-gaming-from-th...rd-88d46beb9245

I'd rather search for the smallest keyboard I can find with built in USB hub and audio port instead.
Let me put it this way instead, any mech keyboard with USB hub and audio pass through below RM 400 available in Malaysia?
(Except for the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2016 smile.gif)

too bad. it's most probably just a lemon unit. i still have 3 boards from filco (2x tkl, 1x full-size) they're with me for years already. they are still working fine. (two of them were beyond second-hand; they're the oldest among my boards)

however, it's the right move to ditch sellers with lousy after-sale service and attitude. i rather support those with good business ethics.

I am afraid you are out of luck... Mech keyboards with both audio and usb hub are hard to come by. Even on the HHKB, the usb hub only provides little power.

Maybe upgrade the keyboard part of your setup for the time being? Otherwise there's only the waiting game or diy route (which i understand is what you are trying to avoid, but oh well)

Yea, i was probably really really unlucky. It was a goddamn filco man.. The one everyone praised about, but ironically died on me. Oh well, now that i thought of it, maybe should have bought some lottery that time, lol.

oic. im currently using corsair lapdog as a full couch gaming gear along with k70 and schimiter. yea total is about 1k+ but i sacrifice my console gaming to buy this setup.huhu

mechanical kb is a must?. if not u can sell all your stuff and buy another set of wireless setup:-
- razer turret (non mechanical) + wireless headphone. - edit (price is expensive)
- tkl or 61 wireless mechanical keyboard like drevo calibur (rgb), anne pro rgb, mantistek 61 rgb + wireless mouse + wireless/wired headphone - edit (price definitely can get below 350 with decent wireless mouse, wired connection only headphone)

example of wireless kb im using:-
Attached Image

or maybe cheaper solution is using usb hub to centralize all the cables. u might need to create custom lapdesk or it will get messy

example usb hub with audio:-

you really should buy lottery that time lol

i like filco mainly because of its stabilizers. (for costar stabs, i use filco as reference; for cherry stabs, imo varmilo/leopold are good references)

to me a good board must come with good stabilizers (for space bar and modifiers). with proper implementations, these longer keys do not rattle when you tap lightly on each side of the key; their up-down movements when they are pressed and released on either side must be smooth, and even, without making a lot of noise.

unfortunately, only a few prebuilts can actually achieve that.

Is the latest Ducky One good? I saw a youtube for the PBT keycaps ver. has quite a solid tap sound.
I only saw many TKL with PBT keycaps from online shops, they do have PBT keycaps for Full size as well right?
Does anyone uses Ducky One here can give any comments?
notworthy.gif

Add: OK, search Geekhack and seems that Ducky One uses a clone Cherry stabilizers, gonna look somewhere else. sweat.gif

i skipped ducky for a long time after bad experience with ducky zero (mainly rattling space bar + wobbly modifiers) i have read something about ducky improved space bar and modifiers since, but i am still skeptical about it

ducky pbt key cap sets are ok, 108-keys, oem profile, supporting full-size boards. (i have some of their double-shot pbt) they are more like hard and rough surfaces. i still prefer pbt caps with soft and smooth surfaces.
