.. then hopefully cm masterkeys pbt can be the next good reference board with costar stabs. there are 2 things that i think make boards with costar stabs like filco superior:

1. solid space bar and modifiers (with minimal or no rattles, very smooth up-down key movements); you simply cannot find the same level of such qualities in most cherry-stab-based boards out-of-box, except for the only few;
2. easy to add/maintain lubrication to make these stabs even better.

most people said it's 'very hard' to replace key caps for costar-based space bar and modifiers. the truth is, it's not as convenient as cherry stabs, but it's NOT hard at all.

one question: did cm masterkeys pbt solve the thick cap issues for costar stabs?
*
What is the thick cap issue for costar?

This board like another filco. With the same type of printing font (will fade over time), similar typing feel, solid.
I will say, this CM Masterkeys PBT maybe the rare boards from that using Taiwan OEM. Well, rare because limited less than 10 units.
The demand is so less that we believe, 10 units per switch enough to cover whole malaysia. (sad though)

Wow, same feel? Then it's a on deal.
I just checked the link, it only has MX Blue and Red, kinda let down a bit... cause I prefer Brown after all.
Does the LED ver. MasterKey Pro L LED share the same board as the L PBT?

Won't have brown.. Confirm don't have in malaysia for so long..

MasterKeys Pro L is different OEM, and the masterkeys led is totally different board and build.. That they can do like L, M, S, using cherry stab.
While Costar OEM only able do L, S for masterkeys pbt.

costar stabs have issues with thick key caps because of its wires. an example is this one: https://imgur.com/a/ln1nW

many chose to sand their caps but imo it's better not to do that.

about the stock caps, i think it's justifiable, because we will replace these caps with nicer sets anyway haha (however, it's still too bad that they chose this type of printing method for pbt caps. maybe cm wants us to transform all of them into thick pbt blanks lol)

with such limited sets, i hope their users can appreciate them. it's really not easy to get good boards with such an affordable price these days.

Yeah, for the heck of it, trying out clicky for the first time. tongue.gif
From all the test video, those keycaps doesn't sounds to scratch the Costar stab, maybe the keycap wasn't too thick.
I have thick PBT on both my Filco TKL, no issue all these years, except maybe it's time to lube it so it won't feels too scratchy.

Reason i ask is because ikbc website has RGB only, while china JD/taobao has non Backlit, RGB and Monochrome

F(layout) = Backlit model (single color LED)
F(layout) RGB = Backlit model (RGB LED)
G(layout) = Non-backlit, but support modding to backlit, and provide backlit keycaps
C(layout) = True non-backlit, can't mod, and provide PBT keycaps

Using it.

No wonder sold out. If that is the F108 with Cherry RGB, then it is damn cheap. Got mine for RM499.

i'm currently using this set at home, carribean at office. i hope some days they will come out with options that have reverse color arrangements (i.e. dark-color caps with light-color alphas and numbers + light-color caps for modifiers)

i have done the same. the effects are similar, so i think this is how far we can go with gk64's stock stabilizers. i have cherry mx silent black under the space bar and modifiers, so they're relatively quieter. previously i thought a warped space bar might still cause the unsettling rattles (although it's minimal now after mods). it turned out it's not the case.

hopefully genuine cherry stabs will help improve further. i really wish i can have something like varmilo's space bar implementation. (especially the smoothness that cannot be shown in video)

i attempted the silenced build so that i can learn to minimize noises caused by other parts of a board. (using varmilo's va87m with mx silent red as reference) it's not as easy as i thought lol

Does anyone has experience with KBD75 and TINA, can share your thought on the quality of these kits?
