more gateron silent black/red, and normal red; also some clear stabilizers to see if they're ok.

for modifiers, imo it's better to use silent switches. for space bar particularly, use the heavier silent one if possible. (e.g. for linear, red couples with black; black couples with grey; grey in this case is linear version; for look uniformity, you can also just swap springs on switches for mods and space bar)

Hi all sifus, can I ask what is good and cheap mechanical keyboard for typing? The keyboard I have for typing at work kinda sucks so I need something with a nice feel to it for typing. Initially, I wanted to get the Logitech Orion G610 but I don't want to leave such an expensive keyboard at the office. Any budget ones about with the same feel like the Cherry MX Brown switches which wouldn't be extremely painful if someone like swiped it off my office?

i thought all companies are doing that, no? they all have at least one-year warranty.

which board are you using that caused this?

Saw Tecware Malaysia's FB account to release an RGB Mech Keyboard for rm220. Their recent TKL version is always sold out.

oh ok.

not sure how to prevent this, but i guess a good-quality board with warranty should be good enough. within the warranty period, make sure it's working as advertised. if it's not just do rma.

Not sure about people asking about MasterKeys S PBT (80% TKL) before.

FYI

But, the keyboard reached Malaysia, and only have MX Blue sadly. 10 units.

if you're not interested in mods and customization that you can do later, it should be ok.

blue. well. there are many who like blue. by any chance there will be a red or silver later? it has costar stabs. (which is damn good)

thanks a lot for bringing in more choices. these days storeuni.com has more varieties than before, compared to few months ago haha

Blue switch is still a good option since the board is made by Costar (Taiwan), which same OEM as Filco.
Silver 0%. Other switches still need to see current sales I believe. The full size not really sell well.
So, conclusion, just have zero expectation on other switches.

P/S: Expectation leads to disappointment.

cherry mx switches, corstar stabs, thick pbt caps, and tkl. it's actually a solid combo from cm. it can be in my suggestion list already.

well, when you have more options beside a full-sized, people will pick something that are more unique in their eyes, even though they are the same price or more expensive.

yeah understood. thanks a lot haha

Omg my keyboard went haywire and unresponsive. the leds were light up randomly when I switch profile.

After unplugging and replugging, only then it returned to normal, but with the same old problem (some leds dimming and not turning off). Crap, don't know if it can last till next year before I have the time to claim warranty. lmao

will micro-usb function well (long term) in a detachable mechanical keyboard?

for example. Logitech G Pro TKL & Masterkey Pro S uses micro usb for their connectivity.

got review saying the connectivity might get loose over time.

Shouldn't be any problem. I always plug and unplug my cables in the keyboard, still works for many years without problem.

Let's take the worst case, even it's broken, you still able to replace the female micro-USB port in your keyboard. Cable wise, it's widely available like phone cable for micro-USB.

rma is the better option in your case. my masterkey pro s is still relatively ok. only once in a long while it will act weird but since it can be restored with very quick resets, i don't bother much.

it's too bad that it has to act this way; if not it's one of my favorites already.

has anyone have/had any experience with the new BOX heavy burnt orange switches? been looking on getting a switch tester and throwing a couple zealios/BOX/tealios switches on em.

plan to build my own 96key (kira96 maybe or whenever Duck decides to do a GB) or 1800 next year so taking my time to save and research huhuhu

currently using Anne Pro w/Gateron Browns. I used to have a CODE 104 w/MX Clears but gave it away (don't ask why sad.gif )

P/S - I'm a linear/tactile guy, clicky for home maybe but for work has to be silent~ish
