aiseh... super blur case me... I thought I was using box black for my space bar and actually I was using box brown. So, I switched it last night and it's slightly better. Or maybe it's just placebo. hahaha... Them sponges in the space bar always keep popping out. A pain to always have to poke them back in. sigh...

I also switched back to Cherry profile PBTs instead of the GMKs ABS. Sounds definitely better now. Not just the space bar, everything sounds better. Generally, I think I like the sound of linears better than tactile/clicky. They sound more solid definitely.

So the project for this weekend will be lubing, clipping and also placing some sound dampening material in the case.

Don't think I can do the screw in stabs as GK64 stabs are plate mounted (or it is changeable? haha... >_<). I read about the band-aid fix/mod as well. Clipping and band-aid will be the next round of mod!

hehe yes there is really no endgame. it's like when i wanted to settle for what i thought a good fit for myself, there is always something new coming up lol

skills can be improved over time with practice. (with tester boards or other means) the more important part is to make sure outcomes work fine. i have tried few times, and my work was bad, but they worked hehe

as for the costs, yes it's relatively high if you are serious about making good boards for yourself. (still, it's really not that high if you compared to some other hobbies)

the custom board market is always a niche market. not many are interested in building one because of a number of reasons. costs might be a significant one, especially where there is a learning curve about each component in the board, if you really wanna know most options that you can have in a more practical way. however the recent introduction of affordable CIY boards makes the learning process a relatively painless and time-saving one.

actually true sifus here have suggested a number of nice and affordable prebuilts to help build up a good reference for noobs (i.e. what makes a good board, qualities and characteristics of components that we need to pay attention to, etc. not just superficial stuff like price), but it still take a while for them to get it (like me lol)
